<img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Joy.gif" alt="" /> Hi, Wheels up in 10 days, so wild! Spent year putting trip together, and now it's within eyesight. I hope we can stop time while in the BVI, I don't want time to continue to fly!!
So my question, from Boat Captain Jr, how long does it take to Motor to Anegada? Looking to head there on Wednesday May 24.
Thank you,
Jolene

approx 15 nautical miles... depends on your speed!

A relatively short haul. Why not do like we did in our powercat and run at 8 knots? Save gas and enjoy the ride.

The speed is to get you where you want to be... If you are enjoying being on the water, then 6-8 knots makes for a nice 2.5 hour trip.
Thus the saying: "Motor boats get you to where you want to be... Sailboats are for those who are where they want to be"

8-9 knots was best for us, on a MarineMax 443. Much faster and fuel consumption goes through the roof. It's a comfortable ride in most sea states. Plan on two hours, since the channel into the AR Hotel can be slow while boats wander around in search of a shallow spot to hang up on.

At that speed you should drag a couple of C&H "Stubby Bubbler" lures behind you... ya never know what you might catch.

... DIF all the time...

Did 6-8+k a couple of weeks ago from Leverick to Anegada, 2 - 2 1/2 hrs.
Blowing 15-20 ESE gust to 25. Gallons Fuel consumed = 0
It was a great sail on a Beneteau 48 monohull <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Groovin.gif" alt="" />!

Seems when we have raced cats from Leverick to Anegada in the "Anegada Lobster Regatta" we have done the run in about 1 hour 45 if memory serves me..that was with a decent blow mind you..
