I recall a trip report a few months ago, but not sure who. She was regretting her move to Sapphire, but she was upgraded to one of the condo units in front as they were working on the remodeling. The trip report had a good vibe that they are working on things there, good management parties and generally happy people.

I think you may be speaking about teresasxm's trip report. I know she had a great trip with a lot of extra goodies along the way including the upgraded stay at Sapphire. She seemed to indicate things were looking better there but perhaps she'll see this and chime in with firsthand insight.

Three reactions:
1. 99% of reports we hear about Sapphire are positive. There is another SMF now so that will certainly convince more people to get out.
2. We have heard zero about the court case that the Sitbons won. We suspect a gag order and we also suspect an appeal from the Verdiers.
3. We sold our only unit there a few years ago. Had had enough.

If Sitbons won - why aren't they running Sapphire? JB's statement doesn't make sense considering what is actually happening at Sapphire!

I was down the first week in June at Oyster Bay but went and spent an afternoon at Sapphire to see what was going on. I met with Mr. Jan Borsje, Director at Sappphire, and was really impressed with him and what they have been doing and plan on doing in the near future! I did not realize he had developed Oyster Bay Beach Resort, had retired and came out of retirement to get Sapphire back running. There are many systems that have been updated, I can send you a newsletter if you would like to email me. They now have the bar and restaurant open full time outside, they have daily and evening activities, and I was told they will not be closing the bar or restaurant at all in slow months. They did have a small assessment voted on by the owners or board that had to be paid by June 30, and if you did pay by then you received another week free to use in the next 2 years. I spoke to a couple staying there and they were very happy with their stay. Mr Borsje realizes they still have a way to go but I felt confident they are continuing to improve the resort, therefore I will continue to keep my week.
