Hello all. We are heading to VG (land based) in two weeks and have a couple of questions. First, I have wanted to eat at Fat Virgins every time we are in VG but have yet to get there. Is there any way to get there being land based? Next, we plan to take the ferry from Spanishtown to Anegada and want to rent a safari bus. Who do we contact for this type of rental and can we rent ahead of time or do we just wait until we get there? Last question (and one that is hotly debated) who has the best Rotis? Thanks in advance for any help.

I use Speedy car rentals. I would call or email to reserve. You can drive to Gun Creek and take the ferry to Fat Virgin. Well worth it. You can hop on the Gun Creek ferry and go to Saba or Bitter End as well. Spending a day ferry hopping North Sound is a lot of fun. My choice for roti is Bath and Turtle or Fat Virgin.

Monica at Flash of Beauty on Anegada makes excellent curried chicken and curried goat rotis - lots of filling and the wrap is not too thick.

Rita - We will be at Adagio on Mahoe. We will most likely cross paths.
Is Speedy's on Anegada? I thought they were on VG. So we can take the gun creek ferry to Fat Virgins? If they have great roti then I have to find a way to get there.

And the fresh fries at fat virgin. You order, they pull out the bag of potatoes, cut them up and dunk them. Yummmy

Hi Nadine - there are two ways to get to FAt Virgin - YCCS yacht club will pick you up and take you back you call them to let you know - best thing to do is call FAt Virgin and they will give you the phone number as the second way is to contact Elaine at Bradley Power Boats and she does the run there and back for a small amount of cash. On the rental front you can either do Speedy's or Mahogany Rentals for a Jitney - third I would say either Fat Virgin or Bath and Turtle have great Roti's - take out at Bath and Turtle cheers Brian

They get them from a local guy who's been supplying them for a few years. They're great with mango chutney and kuchela. Roadtown Wholesale had kuchela last month, when we were there. I will get to Fat Virgins one way or another. Can anyone confirm that there is a ferry to Anegada from Spanishtown. It seems that it runs M-W-F-Sun. but reservations are needed. Does this sound right?

That is correct. It does run M-W-F-Sun and a reservation can't hurt to make sure they stop at Spanishtown after they leave Tortola. Another option is to fly with VI Airlink. It's $99 round trip and only takes 8 minutes.
