The legendary Morris Mark, who performed countless years of singing his ballads at Little Dix, The Rock, Mineshaft, and many other venues has died at the age of 73. He will be missed! https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=...0627&type=3

He was a gentle man with a big heart. He always played "Yellow Bird" for my husband and I. He was so glad someone remembered it!!

I remember Morris so well, but one moment stays especially in my mind and heart. While writing my book on Virgin Gorda, my interview with Morris was at our home. He shared so much with me, and then, overlooking the Caribbean, he sang his special song: It's a Beautiful Day in Paradise. Imagine, just us two! He then donated the marvelous words of his song to my book. A true gentleman. We shall so miss him. Sending love to his children, Joan and Mario

I remember when Morris invited our two girls(then in their early teens) up to his steel drums at Little Dix and then taught them how to play "happy birthday" for me on the drums. It was so fun and special. Will really miss him

I sit here in Chicago watching reports of Irma bearing down on the BVI, but all I can do is play the CD with beautiful Day in Paradise, Virgin Island Sunset, My Home, all of those love songs for these islands. I want Mr. Mark's family to know how much we appreciated your father's music as we sailed in the islands for 23 years. Trusting that you are all safe. My sympathy to you and those you love. May
