On an NFL side note, I used to make all of the socks worn by all of the NFL teams and have visited most of them. I personally established the standard sizing of the game socks when the league used to force standards. Those days are now long gone.
I also went to the annual NFL equipment managers meeting and considered all of the equipment managers in the league to be friends.
Yes the NFL used to be a huge part of my personal and business life, but no longer. Don't even watch games now.

I dated Matt Robinson QB for the New York Jets in 1977. Seems like another lifetime for me. We met at a beauty contest, he was a judge and my friend was a contestant. I was sitting right behind him. My friend lost the pageant and I went out to dinner with Matt and his friends. He lived in Long Beach and I was responsible for making him late for practice. Was not a good year for the Jets.

Speaking of the Jets. They were the first team to wear our socks and wore them in the 1969 Super Bowl. Patriots were the 2nd team and after that a lot more were added quickly.
