Day 15 "Fun in the Sun"
We have completed two full weeks today and the weather continues to be amazing! Undoubtedly the best November weather we have experienced!
We enjoyed our usual leisurely breakfast in the condo . I was unable to post yesterday's report as we still had no internet service which was annoying. We depend on internet service here for our business and this allows us to extend our stay. We had excellent service until yesterday so will have to inquire as to the problem now. We called the manager and left a message, but he did not return our call so we called Scarlett, the service provider. Scarlett informed us that a new modem was to have been purchased and installed by the owner and this did not happen, so the service by all the old modems was terminated yesterday. Well, that answers our question, but does not solve our problem! We will look into renting our own modem from Scarlett tomorrow since they were closed when we got home tonight. I will continue to write these reports and post them when possible. Sorry for the delay and hope you will enjoy them when you can.
Today was our "Annie Day"! We like to spend a special day with our good friend, Annie, on each trip. Today we decided to spend the day in Oyster Pond since she had not been there for a while. We commenced with a tour of the Westin which she remembered as being the location of Scavenger's Bar a few years ago. Following that, we went to Dawn Beach for lunch at Mr. Busby's and then to spend the afternoon at the beach.
Amstel Bright was the drink of the day and lunch was very tasty. I had the club sandwich, David had the burger plate and Annie had the chicken sandwich. All plates were served with fries. The view there right on the water is lovely and only a few steps to the beach chairs!
We got three chairs and an umbrella and settled in for the afternoon! The water was the calmest we have seen for awhile at Dawn Beach and the beach was very clean. David and I enjoyed the water and Annie enjoyed her book and loved the people watching from her chair. We all had a very relaxing afternoon and left the beach around 4:30 P.M.
We decided to go to the Dinghy Dock since we were in the area and enjoy happy hour there and have a couple of cocktails before dinner. We thought we might see Maureen and Larry there, but didn't see them tonight. All the tables were full tonight so business doesn't seem to be dropping off there at all. David and I both had the fish and chips served with salad and Annie chose the garlic shrimp with salad and rice. We all enjoyed our food tonight and service was good considering the number of people there. We got Annie home to Philipsburg by 7:30 P.M. and decided to return to Simpson Bay by the usual route. We were pleasantly surprised to find a very short line of cars for only a short distance before the round about. The traffic was moving and we were back in Pelican Key by 8:05 P.M.! A perfect ending to a beautiful day!
