Hello,
We will be chartering from CYOA in late June and I was wondering if anyone has been to the SVI recently - particularly if there are restaurant options as there have been in the past in Dewey/Culebra and Esperanza/Vieques.
Thanks

We did St Thomas -> Culebra -> Culebrita -> Vieques -> St Croix -> St Thomas from April 18 to 28. Did not stop at Dewey. In Esperanze, ate at Bananas and Bilis. Would have done Dufffy's next, but we were only there 2 nights. Both meals were very good. Bilis is a little more upscale, and hence costs more, but very nice ambience. You can't go wrong either place.

We had a great meal at Mamacita's in Dewey in March. Check out the 'Culebra Cruisers and Boaters' FB page for announcements of other restaurant openings. The Dinghy Dock reported they would open May 22. Zacos Tacos is open, and Krusty Krab has reopened at a new location in town.

Thanks all.
We were thinking about heading to the BVI, but from the recent thread on the increased cruising fees/taxes/etc., heading back to the SVI is seeming more likely.

Most of the Culebra options are back up and running. Mamacita's, Dinghy Dock, Susie's, Seabourne, Coconuts, Zaco's Tacos, El Eden, Heathers Pizza, as well as some new(er) additions, Jaki Sea's, Caracoles, Tiki Grill (new location, in town). Pandelis for breakfast and sandwiches, Vibra Verde for healthy organic breakfast. I heard rumblings that Krusty Krab is coming back, but not sure when. Also heard that El Caobo won't be back. Half a dozen food trucks with paninis, seafood and spit roasted lechon (pig). As low season moves in, look for many of these places to close for vacation, or go to 3 or 4 days a week. Good idea to call ahead.
