In our 7 years on the island we for the most part had usually dined on the french side in Grande Case, Cul de Sac or Marigot, you know the names oft repeated in generally glowing terms. This year for a change we decided we would spend more time for noshing between Phillipsburg and Simpson Bay. Sporting my road map red toned head, we ventured out on the Sunday once again to the beach at Orient and I fearlessly left my cap back at our unit and once again lathered my now glowing beacon. No cruise ships in, so the beach was somewhat quiet. Upon return to our car we encountered a rather large gentleman, his forearm sporting a cast engaged in a rather animated discussion with two Gendearms (French Police probably spelled wrong) on bikes.
In the other hand he sported a Video Camera. (You know where this is going)

Seems someone had threatened to physically remove this poor soul from the beach and he wished the Police to deal with this person. We presumed that while he was videoing the local flora and fauna, some fauna took exception to his flora being captured on tape.

Anyway despite his loud protestations that anyone could hear within two hundred yards, the Officers to their credit remained steadfast supporting the rights of the unclothed over the voyeurs. Patti was surprised that the camera hadn't gone for a swim courtesy of fauna which I agreed would have been appropriate, anyway.

Now on to Ric's for the Eagles and Tampa Bay game. I know, what do Canadians know about the NFL! Actually it is extremely popular in Southern Ontario. Well, we thought we were going to Rics, but when we arrived if you had shut your eyes you would have sworn it was Veteran's Stadium, gee even with them open, the number of green shirts was overwhelming. Now I am not an Eagles fan and I realize at this posting that TB got the bowl, but I really believed the
Eagles would dominate etc. We left just after the half wondering what would become of those few poor TB fans. The food was great as usual and Ric's staff were running challenging patterns too thru the maddened mob providing great service. later for dinner we landed at Hot Tomatoes in the old Sambuca location at Simpson Bay having read some positive comments. I had Carribean Fried Chicken while Patti explored some Seafood Pasta. She had no complaint and I was surprised at the size of my half fried chicken, I hadn't seen one that fat in any of my travels over the island. We really enjoyed it there and would definitely return! Now on to the Dolphin Casino, just up the highway to Maho, turn left and go past the Sunset Beach Bar thru the gates of the Canvasseri Complex and no of course we didn't break the bank, leaving our usual deposit. Not repeating Casino trip comments in any further reports but to say here, travelled every night there. Next Year will hang out at the Princess for a change of pace. Nice though to gamble with the same folks sharing our week there, year after year. Stay tuned for part 3.
