Actually it says Kakao (only) will be open by November. Others have reported that Kontiki had started construction down by Esmeralda, but nothing about Kakao starting construction. I guess the article is correct..

I'm surprised that Kakao will be reopening that soon, as nothing had been started when we were there in May. La Playa isn't reopening until December 10, and they were working on it in May.

The Carbets next to former Pedros appear to be the last on the list of projects. "We have not abandoned them BUT we have had other priorities such as repairing the schools." https://www.thedailyherald.sx/islan...firmed-with-bikini-inauguration-thursdayThis would give Club Orient beach goers just Perch Lite unless you walk to Bikini and Kakao (opening Nov.).

I was surprised at that also. Perhaps the story got Kakao and Kontiki confused, as apparently they have started on Kontiki.

Well, they did open but Irma took care of them in short order. Not the governments fault and I can see their priorities to get schools and the infrastructure going.

Probably because hurrican season is here and those places would not sustain a hit and could potentially cause harm to other fragile structures. All must play by the rules.

Saw video that before. Was noticing all that seaweed. Would have thought they would have cleaned that up in preparation for this.
