We normally avoid the Maho area given it's Touristy, flashy appearance. This year however in deciding to spend more time on the Dutch side we decided to take in the show at the Casino Royale. Crusing over I checked the car into the parking garage at the end of the strip and we walked down, looking for a spot to eat.

We have noted on this board previous comments about Cheri's and their dinner show being a little cheesy and while we just walked by, we could hear the entertainment and the people there, did seem to be enjoying themselves.

While reviewing the outside menu, we were approached by the host of the Paris Bistro across from the Casino Royale who convinced us that they had the best food in the world! Right, but what the hell, as the show was only 1.5 hours from starting, we decided to take him up on his claim. We were seated at the outside railing. Great vantage point and while having pre-dinner drinks, people watching, saw the Michigan guys go by and as well, a very attractive young lady with long dark curly hair in blue jeans. (I'II explain later)

Patti had a crab laden appetizer while I went with the escargot which came in 6 or 12 portions. I should have and will order the 12 when I return, it was arguably one of the best escargot dishes I have ever had and best of all, piping hot. We went on to have to slightly different Lamb entres that were also superb. The service was impeccable from the wait staff including the young fellow who repeatedly tempted me to have more of their delicious bread.

As we awaited our bill, the Dancers from the Casino Show spilled out into the street around 8:45 or so dancing along to a fabulous calypso beat as sort of a prelude to the show starting at 9. We got some great shots with the camera then followed them back into the Casino for the show. Sat down with a couple of girls from Oakville and Burlington about 15 minutes from our house, go figure.

Anyway, the show, a fantasy about mermaids was entertaining and for 25.00 each, we thought, worth the money. You can pick up tickets at any of the island/hotel/resort activity centres. P.S. the girl in the jeans turned out to be star of the show, I mentioned to Patti she looked familiar
