We are going on a cruise in Feb. Looking for a hotel that would be reasonable in price: $100 - $140 for one night's stay. Would like it (the hotel) to take us to the cruise port. Will be flying into Ft. Lauderdale and departing on Carnival's Freedom Feb. 9 - 17. Any suggestions would be great...if you have also been there for just a cruise and stayed somewhere would like to know where and how you liked it. Does not need to be fancy, just a good clean room with a good bed and close to restaurants or one that has places to eat in the hotel.
Thank you, <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/dine.gif" alt="" />

We have stayed at the LaQuinta on 26th St. in Hollywood.

Complementary shuttles to/from airport and to cruise port, although you have to pay KSA to get back to the hotel post-cruise. Complementary parking while on cruise for those driving.

For the Fantasy Fest trip in 2009, we had a tour bus full going to the port.

Clean. Free breakfast but no restaurant in hotel and limited choices in easy walking distance. (A Dave and Busters and a shiny diner are in a nearby shopping center, fast food if you go all the way to the other side of the shopping center on Stirling Rd.)

Best Western has several hotels in the area. We stayed at
Best WesTERN PLUS Oakland Park Inn. It was a small hotel with a reasonable price. The staff was very helpful and attentive. Within walking distance to everything you need. Shuttle van from airport to hotel and hotel to cruiseport $10.00 Not plush but good for a night,

And now that my life is so prearranged
I know that it's time for a cool change
