We flew down today with AA, all flights went well, even with this front moving thru the area. Back at Club Beach Side Villas, and we have the whole place to our selves til Monday when one other couple comes in. This really feels like heaven! We would rather be here having a beer,” here in haven”, than back on our beach with glaring sun and 90 degree temps any day. And we can’t say enough about Leslie! We was there waiting on us at the airport, IN THE RAIN. Talk about service with a smile. He is the best, bar NONE! So for those who were talking about renting a vehicle, we endorse Leslie 200%. Look no further than him. We will continue to to report through the week.
Great day on tap, sunshine and the occasional clouds. Waking up drinking coffee on the deck on our first day, “priceless “! However as much as we love the sun, the island really needs some rain. Well back to laying around and doing nothing!
Your pictures look beautiful. Thanks for sharing. I look forward to seeing more. We are considering staying at BSV next year. How is the beach and water? Some are rougher or more rocky that others. Just wondering how the sand and surf are. We LOVE mullet. How does it compare? Our "home" was Royal Palm, which was really not that great. Thanks so much!
BSV surf? Can be flat calm or strong. But not as strong as Mullet at least based on our experience. Rocky, would say no. Of course there are some rocks, depending on the beach at the time. But can be sandy as far as you can walk also.
But the beach is great, but the units are fantastic. So imagine your best day on Mullet and increase it significantly and that is Beach Side Villas.
Hey Carol. The beach has really come back in a big way! And also to Kenny. Hey Lesley, let us know when y’all are going to the buccaneer beach bar for drinks, we are going to the BUS tonight for dinner.
Well yesterday was just a hangout day by the beach and pool, a whole bunch of nothing, but the weather was great as well as today so far. Had dinner at the BUS, another great meal. Woke up this morning, had coffee and drifted off to EL Zorro's ( I know it’s spelled something else, but that’s is good as it gets this morning, lol) and had a pretty good breakfast. Small boat in town today so they were setting up for the cruise crowd, as normal. It is unbelievable since June how much the beach has come back! Well off to another sand gravity beach day as well as a pool day! It seems so strange around here because we are the only ones here, but certainly not complaining!
Hi Gary , We were out last night till late . First went to White Swan Restaurant and afterwards went to a new Bar called Obay Obay ,hence will cool out tonight at home . Will let you know when.
The island may get some of the rain that it needs. Météo France has a warning up from 6PM tonight until 6am on Tuesday. Tropical wave to the north of the island, with heavy rains and thunderstorms, 1.5” - 2” in places.
Tim--check out the website. They charge ONLY 5% tax on top of the room fee, unlike many other places, that charge 15% service fee in addition, which can add up quickly. The prices for off season I think are very reasonable, $!65 a night plus 5% tax for a one bedroom. We rarely go during season, but like I said, offseason is very reasonable. And since there is a/c in the living room as well as the bedroom, it is comfortable inside even in summer.
The island has taken on an eyrir feeling today since noon, especially around BSV. Everything is boarded up except two units which are occupied. Everything in Simpson Bay is operating, but this is a look that we have seen all to often in our neck of the woods which is sometimes referred to as “hurricane ally”.
We also feel the same way, but was strange seeing all the furniture taken in and the hurricane shutters closed up. Even up on beacon hill, most of those have been closed as well. And yes it is knock down gorgeous here, all though hotter than he!! , but not complaining, we will take it.
