We will pick up our boat in Tortola, sail back to USVI, and then back to BVI in a couple days. (at least that is the current plan!)

Will customs in either US or BVI care about about the food and alcohol we have aboard our boat? I'd really hate to have to provision separately in USVI and BVI.

Appreciate any thoughts from those who do this itinerary on a regular basis. All our other trips have been BVI only.

We've done this a half dozen times and have never had anyone even want to look at the boat. We are coming down to BVI October 31 and will head over to St
John on the 1st.

One other point. Anymore, we check out at Great Harbor the night before we head over to St John. BVI customs is fine with that and it gets us on our way before customs opens up at 8:30 AM

BVI - never a problem. USVI - officially, you can't bring fresh food or even garbage. We always dump off our garbage in JVD so we can truthfully saw we don't have any. For food - never volunteer any information, answer questions exactly as asked, truthfully. For food - just say "ship's stores", and that's usually enough. There is (or was - we haven't been back since Irma) one agent in Cruz Bay who would tell us we must immediately proceed to the incinerator facility in Charlotte Amalie to dispose of all fresh and frozen food. We always assured her that we would be doing just that. Enough said.
