Our countdown has begun, 31 days until we land in ST Maarten, will be arriving on Dec 2 and staying just for 1 week. Any one else will be down at the at the same time? Would be great to meet for drinks or dinner.

12/2 - 12/16. Drinks, lunch or dinner would be great. We always stay on the French side, but we're flexible. Would someone want to suggest a place and time? It would be nice to meet & greet other TTOL'ers.

Where on the French side do you stay? We do visit Orient beach at least once during our stay. We could also meet on the Dutch side for dinner, let's keep in touch.

We will be spending our 1st week @ Club Fantastico & our 2nd week in Oyster Pond. As I said we're flexible and will have a car. Porto Cupecoy or Emilio's are 2 places for suggestions. In 22 trips I've only had dinner at one place in Simpson Bay - Bavaria. Mostly Orient Village, Grand Case. Marigot. It will be our 1st Dec. visit, so most people will be new to us and it's always fun to put a live face to these posts.

We arrive November 25th and leave December 13th and are staying at La Vista in Simpson Bay. It would be fun to have a TTOL party.

I am staying in an apartment at Tradewinds in Cupecoy. Why don't you announce a date/time close to where you are and we all could show up?

We will be there 12/2 - 12/16. 1st week in Orient Village. 2nd week in Oyster Pond. Have car, will travel. Cupecoy is a nice central location. Drinks, dinner, lunch - any would be good. This will be our 1st Dec. visit, 23rd overall. Also 1st visit in 3 years. Anxious.

I won't be there regardless, but it's been my experience that the best places and times for people to get together is around happy hour, so my suggestion is that you need to pick someplace that is also a 'bar' rather than purely a restaurant, so it will be open sooner. What time does Bar Code open? Never been there myself, but it seems like it might be a good choice.

The March crowd has always met at the Greenhouse right by the Atrium and Buccaneer Beach bar. It has worked out very well in the past.

The Greenhouse was always a great spot. I just suggested Bar Code as some people wanted something in Cupecoy area..

Bar Code is open Mon-Sun (closed Tue) 11 a.m. - 11 p.m. per their Facebook page. It's on the way to Jordan Village.

Ernest and Fidel is open for lunch and dinner. Happy Hour on Sundays is 4-7; other days 4-6. In Porto Cupecoy.

Rendezvous is also in Porto Cupecoy but I didn't look that one up as I had a bad experience there.

So TNW2007 - you choose. Bar Code or Ernest and Fidel?

No, just don't rely on auto correct. Read what you post AFTER you post it.

We've never been to Bar Code, but have enjoyed Ernest & Fidel. Either sounds good. Elaine lives in Cupecoy. If she's following this thread, perhaps she could express her preference (and join in).

Elaine has just left for the States to visit family so I don't know how soon she will be checking in here. I am not speaking for her but do know that she and Bill are regulars at Bar Code. I was there a few times in June and think their food is good and reasonably priced.

I have not been to Ernest and Fidel since Irma. Their Facebook page says they have live music Wednesday - Saturday and feature tapas, burgers, and fajitas.

Others have also had positive reviews of Bar Code. Since we always enjoy new (for us) places, I'd love to try it. And Cupecoy is a good central location. If we could settle on a location, then date, time and # who would attend. As I've said Dec. is a new month for us to visit (usually July or/and Nov.) so we'd really like to meet some new people.

No, if you rely on auto correct and rad AFTER posting you have a certain time frame to make corrections

Biturbo----Just suggest a date and a time and a place. Unfortunately there is never going to be a date, time and place that is good for everyone, but I'd suggest NOT on the weekend and around 5 or 6, so people can come by for just a drink or stay for dinner.

Looking at the dates everyone is here, I propose either Monday, December 3, which is the day after several of you arrive, or Wednesday, December 5, which is the day before I leave. If we wanted Tuesday, December 4, we'd need to go to Ernest and Fidel. And I actually think 4 pm or 5 pm would be best. What say you all?

This is funny - I usually refer to my wife as the social director. Therefore - Monday the 3rd would be great. It will be the day we get some groceries in the morning, maybe a little beach time after lunch If we meet at 4, have some drinks, and then a casual dinner, it would round out a nice day. Bar Code it is?
And thanks, Carol, for your input.

We will be on island from November 27 until December 9. Would love to meet up and the 3rd would work fine for us.

Edited to add: we will be staying at Beachside Villas and will have a car, so just about anywhere is good.

As soon as TNW2007 responds that they can make it (since they started this thread), I will start a thread in People Talk so people can sign up there.
