Sail445 is correct: if the Christmas winds are blowing a Scrub to JVD ride to the north could be really rough. Bad enough during the day - worse after dark. Jason is also correct that a ferry to West End or even shuttle to CGB would be easier. However, it’s a long taxi ride from West End, so you would have to leave after dinner, which sort of defeats the NYE concept.
As I recall, in the past Scrub ran a later ferry to the party in Trellis Bay. There may have been a fee. They will sometimes run a special ferry for a price. Ask them. They may also have some sort of party. I vaguely remember that, although we’ll probably be in bed by 9pm!

I guess we would just have to make sure we leave early enough to get back to Trellis Bay by 10:30pm, unless the Scrub Island ferry also runs later on NYE. My husband is afraid we’ll be “over served” and miss the boat ;-) Leave real early and enjoy the island of Jost have an early dinner and be back at Trellis and enjoy the New Year. Foxy’s NYE after midnight is not a pretty scene with people barfing all over the beach.

Check the Dive BVI web site. They have day trips from Scrub which will be your best bet. Depending on the days you’ll be around, they may have their Jost trip. I suspect they’re playing things by ear. Last year they were still closed, so demand was not there. If they’re busy this year, as they often were over that time, they will add on trips.
