Marine Max based a number of their boats at Scrub for many months and it seemed to work fine. Scrub did a lot of the provisioning directly, although that proved a hassle for the staff. You are correct in saying that running to Riteway would involve a cab, although maybe Scrub’s own market will carry more, and Trellis Bay Market is also there, as is Aragorn and his Good Moon boxes.
It will make flying into Beef a way better option than STT. You can even arrive on the late flight without any problem. Ask if the Scrub dock shuttle is available to you. I don’t think the ferry will be an issue. They seem to be running a second, new boat as well.
The holding tank thing is a big concern, but Scrub does have waste treatment, and their main beach is right there, so they have an incentive to keep it clean.

I guess if the marina conditions haven't changed much, them moving to Scrub makes sense. I would also imagine it isn't a permanent move, but probably a move until things improve elsewhere? After all, Scrub's occupancy may be down as well so this would be added and consistent revenue for them. Odds are charter guests will not only provision at the market, but eat at their restaurants at the start and/or end of the trip.

Are there any slips left at Scrub once the DYC boats are in place?
Life's short - sail more!

I was just in the scruba marina.
There was at least one empty slip. I don’t recall if there were any more.
Lots of dyc boats everywhere.
Space was very tight maneuvering, even for a dinghy.
2 boats are still on the diamond reef moorings.
Good luck getting in there.

We have moored at Marina Cay for several decades, and noticed small boats ferrying a few passengers over to Scrub from Trellis Bay. We were moored a few rows out from Marina Cay and did not notice much of a wake.
Might be a totally different type of vessel.
15 kts seems very fast, and that will produce a large wake. Did anyone happen to mention this to SCRUB or Marina cay.
Producing a wake in the vicinity of a mooring field or anchorage or docks and slips is not acceptable, and knowledgeable skippers would know better .
We also , pre Irma, saw only a few small boats ferrying poeple , usually just one or two couples. And it was infrequent,
We were also vert excited about spending a couple of days at Scrub . Not concerned about shore power, do not need it, as to the marine head, we will have it set to holding tank. That is what you do in a marina.
As to slip availability, looked to me like DYC, had a load of catamarans which need the larger slips. Erica and I will be bareboating a 36i, mono, and the 35 ft slips are well inside at I think A dock. I printed up a slip map, so we would be prepared and know the location of those slips.
Water is supposed to be available , for a fee, to fill up our boats water tanks. No water at the slip is no big deal, and we can go to plan B, and top off at Marina Cay if boat water is not available..
Any, up to date scoops would be appreciated, We will be sailing the last two weeks in May 2019 . BVI trip # 17.
Thank you , gotta git, time to go out for New Year Eve dinner and dancing.
Happy new year to all....
Denny and Erica

Looked up the ferry from Trellis to Scrub
photo shows a much larger vessel that the dock banger that we were familiar with.....if the one pictured is in fact what they are using now, that beast could definitely kick up a serious wake.
It would be great if those who were knocked around were able to verify the dates and times, and the annoyance they experienced at Marina Cay, and Scrub, perhaps, those complaints might be listened to.
Another, very serious problem that could occur, is those large wakes hitting the moored vessels, and some one losing their footing and falling, and being injured.
We personally, will not be there until May, and not sure that the ferry company, or Scrub office people, or the skippers of the ferry have a clue.
Also, more reports in the reviews sections of scrub and Marina Cay, might help, since we love Marina Cay, but would not want to be subjected to that ferry blasting thru there.
Actually, it is a very short distance from Trellis to Scrub and no reason to speed and produced a wake.

Scrub uses two ferries: the original Scrub One, and the new Scrub Two (very plush, with forward-facing seats). They take turns doing the hourly runs. I haven’t seen them speed through the MC mooring field. I just sat and watched them for over an hour, and did not see that at all.
However, there has always been a main boating channel east of Camanoe, west of Marina Cay and Scrub. Boats of all sizes have always zipped through there. Marina Cay has recently had moorings added north and west of their older moorings (where boats used to anchor).
In addition, boats have taken to overnighting along Diamond Reef, both anchored and on the day snorkel moorings (there are three boats there now). That forces the through traffic closer to Marina Cay.
The net result is more traffic nearer the Marina Cay mooring field. It is unfair, in my opinion, to blame this on the Scrub ferry. Choose one of the traditional moorings, to the east, close to Marina Cay.
