My wife & I are going to SXM dutch side condo unit for 3 weeks- arriving 01/12.
Is it safe to have dinner in Marigot & Grand Case?

But do not park in the dark parking lot across from the Lolos.

Personally, I would not eat dinner in Marigot. Grand Case, yes. I would eat lunch in Marigot.

Most of the restaurants in Marigot have someone available to walk you to your car, if you are feeling a little anxious.

Which dark lot is this? The free lot or the pay one with an attendant that some restaurants validate? Or is there another lot ive skipped.

It's the free parking lot and in the evening it's very dark and a lot of drug addicts hang out around there.

Grand Case should be totally fine. Had some great dining experiences there in the past. Just double-check to see who is open and who is not. With Marigot, I kind of agree with the advice above. Don't like being in or around Marigot after dark. So many other great places in Simpson Bay, Philipsburg, etc. to choose from, so I would probably defer to one of those areas if choosing a late dinner.

The pay lot was full and well lit or the free lot?

We were there from 11/25 through 12/13 and eat in Grand Case several nights. We parked in the free lot, across from the Calmos Café (not opened yet), and it was well lit. We walked down to the Piazza Pascal and there were a lot of people on the street. When we ate at Spiga's, we just parked on the street in front of the restaurant.
