Thanks for the link. Interesting how many of the top prated establishments just happen to take out an ad in the edition.

Isn't L'Escargot currently closed? I noticed several places listed in the initial voting were closed or out of business at the time of voting.

The winners are told a couple of days before it is published. There are many winners who do not advertise at all.

I think a lot of the votes come from local residents; what we as tourists like may be completely different from what folks who are there every day like. I've never heard of I Love SXM either.

Certainly that's true, that locals have different tastes than tourists, and you would think more locals vote than tourists, but I have no idea..

Thanks for posting this. Thought it was really interesting. Not sure if they hit the nail on the head every time (pizza = Domino's?), but I do agree with some of their selections. I didn't see anything for the 'best hamburger/cheeseburger on SXM'. Would have loved to have seen the choice here for that category.

Page 20 has a "Best Burger" category.

Toppers followed by Burger Madness. I can go along with that. Never had a burger at the third choice (Rusty Rocket), and in fact I'm not sure I even know where that is. One thing about St. Martin is that some of the best cheeseburgers I have ever had have been on this island. Looking at all the selections made in this publication I'm curious how the people who frequent TTOL would vote!

Never had a burger at Topper's. Not really a fan of the place but may have to try the burger on my next visit.

I have had a really decent burger at Mark's Place, along with about everything else I have had there being good.

I'm not a huge burger fan, but Todd says that the burger at The Palms is the best on the island. And if Todd says that, I believe him!

Wow! So many burger choices! The Palms for sure on our next visit (next month). As for Mark's Place, just about everything is good there and I'm surprised they didn't make this 'Best of St. Martin' list in any of the categories. Maybe we need to submit 'write-in' votes for them next year!

I was at I Love SXM this morning for the first time. It is just past the far end of the boardwalk, between the Sea Palace and Oceans. When the boardwalk stops, just walk another 50 yards in the sand. There may also be an entrance from front Street. According to the server, they have been open since March of 2018. I liked it and will be back.
