Wendel, nice video. At one point later on in the video you show the road and it looks pristine. I drove on that some road several hours, it looks nothing like your video.

Remember it as our first visit was in Sept. 1991 and between Junior as our Taxi driver and Mullet Bay, we got the fever. I remember(and have a picture somewhere) having a beer at the little beach bar and is was something like $3-$4 back then when it was part of Mullet Bay Resort.

JD--I remember seeing that picture, so I think maybe it was posted here at some point?
Seeing the golf course in good shape was such a change!!

Probably so. We took turns buying beer at our various stops. Most places it was $1 but at Mullet Bay is was $3-$4 and it was her dad's turn to buy, he about flipped!

Thanks so much for providing this! Love those older videos of SXM. OMG ... was that the same golf course! It looked like one from Hawaii.

Wendell,
So many wonderful memories. Our first visit to the island was November, 1973 and they were in the process of constructing Building 90, the ocean front units on the far right of the beach that you panned a couple of times. And I believe they were also working on the Hillside buildings that year but we never made it up that far to find out for sure. Mullet Bay Resort was beautiful, so much so that we actually hated to leave it to do much exploring. I think we rented a car from Holiday Car Rental for a day and the rest of trip we were perfectly content to stay right there at Mullet. It was pristine and had all the amenities so there really was no compelling reason to leave the resort if you chose not to.
Respectfully,
pat

Memories....... First visited SXM in 1984. Remember Mullet without the cruiser crowds, the restaurant on the beach. We bought a timeshare at Pelican and would often travel to Mullet before breakfast for a quick dip and would be tempted by the smell of bacon being grilled. Wonderful memories of SXM! Returned over 30 times until IRMA destroyed our units at SBRM. May return some day.
