There are A LOT of foreign workers on island right now.
I was told by a resident and businessman that the government is looking the other way for now. Once they’ve gotten what they need an immigration roundup will be performed.
People from Dominica, Argentina, etc are doing jobs that St Maarteners either don’t want or aren’t trained and qualified to do.

Same as here in the US, locals often won't do the worst jobs.
