Raising a voodoo/boogie toast to Dr John and the great Glen Ashmore ( Prof and moderator here). Some may not know that Glen was the road manager for the legendary New Orleans boogie man who left us a day or so ago. Glen is too humble to reveal but he also worked with The Allman Brothers Band and once had to find some backup singers for Dr John in the Bay area when his regulars didnt show up. He found a trio of local ladies just starting out in Oakland..by the last name of "Pointer". Needless to say they did a great job that night! Cheers Dr John..we are cranking up "Such a Night" in your honour and thanking Glen for his tales!

Yeah, you right! Glenn was Mac’s road manager in the early 70s when the good doctor was at his peak. I was at a show at the St. Bernard Civic Auditorium on Lundi Gras that Glenn road-managed that featured The Meters/Prof. Longhair/Dr. John. It was epic!
