Visited there in May. During the week it is deserted - scary. On weekends, locals are there-many families, so feel more safe. There are still a few picnic tables there, chained to trees. Brought our own chairs, but were invited to share table with a local family. Our discussions included what damage and loss they experienced and how they are obtaining work in the reconstruction. BTW the swimming structure used by local schools is gone. Beach is now not groomed (as it was in past), but trash is collected (there are trash containers). I would be leery visiting Galion when there is no visible activity on the beach.
