Yikes! Those mountains in St. Kitts and Nevis are ones where it's usually recommended you take a guide, but that (a broken guide rope) could have happened with a guide as well -- at least they'd have one more person to help.

A prime example where medivac insurance would have been a good thing. Something like Sky Med would have flown him home to his own hospital. One never knows when you might need this insurance.
