I have tried to find through searching the forum but wondering who rents cars at the port, and of those your experiences? Thanks in advance!

Hertz rents at port. I have been using them while on island for last 20 years.

Although I've always rent with an airport pickup/paperwork, angela@horizoncarrentals .com does port/ day rentals. she very reliable and reasonable. We've used her for many years.
Next SXM visit -November 2023. Also January 2024.

Thanks Norm we usually do airport also but will be on island for one day while on a cruise and our usual guy does not rent at port.

Hertz can book you a rental car for pickup at the port by contacting hertzres@sintmaarten. I got a rate of $90/day ($60 for the car and $30 for tax and concession fee. There's also Coastal at https://www.coastal.sx/ they're quoting $74.75 (all in) for a compact (Hyundai Accent or similar) 866-978-8361 or email info@coastal.sx
