Not sure whether this was a one day thing?

It should be a one-day protest, but it won't be the last one. The PPRN issue isn't going to be resolved quickly. The water quality issue may be faster to resolve. It took SAUR on St Barth almost a year to find a solution to a similar problem. Hopefully something was learned from that, which will assist ARS on St Martin to come to a timelier resolution. The water pricing issue is hard to make a guess on. It could go either way, but will more likely end up in ARS' favor.

One interesting quote, and this applies to both St Barth and St Martin: “It is extremely important that the population knows from when the first controls and analysis of the water was done, if it was a year ago or 10 years ago, and what were the results,” The question raised is whether the testing for Bromates is new, and they could have always been present, or if the testing has been ongoing, and the presence of Bromates is new.

The water issue is the more immediate problem for sure. No water AND higher bills! duh I thought only GEBE could get away with stuff like that. The PPRN issue is very complicated, for sure, and is really holding up rebuilding on the French side.

Marigot was closed off yesterday. After sitting for 45 minutes in traffic coming from Orient we got to Columbier and were turned back by Gendarmes.

It sounded like it was a big mess.

This is NOT just SXM but events around the world... people are frustrated and I know you do not allow politics into discussions but just saying the world is burning mad...

I admire how at least the French side people care enough to be vocal and protest. Just seems like the Dutch side is a lot of talk but no action. In politics ... Enough is enough but Dutch side just seem to take it over and over.
