As always, I am up early (5:15 today) so will do a recap of yesterday as I watch the sun come up. Started with Ronalee sleeping in so I had coffee and blueberry pie (from Carrefour and good) for breakfast and did some checking up on our dogs and cat at home. We are fortunate to have a neighbor who cares for the cat as if he were her own and my niece and her husband are tending to the dogs and house in our absence. We are very thankful to have then staying there. It was goodbye to two couples from MI as it was their departure day. They recommended Sublime restaurant again after having their fourth meal there out of their 7 nights here. It must be good for them to go there so often. They had a disappointing experience at Nowhere Special and we suggested Mark's Place, which they did enjoy. Off to Mullet Bay for front row chairs and PERFECT conditions.! There was decent spacing between the chairs but it was still rather tight considering it was not crowded. Very little wave action, easy entry and exit to the crystal clear water and about a 8-12" drop off once you entered the water. One of the Golden Eagle cats rolled in with a sparse number of cruise ship visitors and ended up setting up their bar/cooler right beside us. Not a problem as we engaged in some interesting conversation and the hands from the boat shared their rum punch with us. Not a bad deal for the hour they were there. Lunch was my once or twice a year hot dog from Rosie's along with some really good fries. Rosie's had a somewhat steady flow of business but not as busy as I have seen in the past. Their prices have remained pretty steady but I have noticed higher prices at both the groceries and restaurants. A GREAT day at Mullet! A quick stop at Driftwood for a Mudslide and then back to Horny Toad for some later afternoon relaxation. John and Pat Denley stopped by to check out Horny Toad and we enjoyed social hour with them here along with Doug and Debbie the owners. Neither of us had dinner plans so we decided to check out Sublime. It is on Sister Modesto road and very near Horny Toad but off the beaten path. Parking was across the street or in front and only a couple people at the bar when we arrive. As we were told, do not let the appearance or location fool you. The owner/chef if a former sous chef from Temptation and also had Sublime located at The Summit Resort prior to Irma. Friendly service from a gal from the states and our orders were placed. Lamb skewer, ribs, a fried noodle and chicken dish along with my tempura shrimp were the choices. Very moderate prices and generous servings and everyone enjoyed their choices. I tried an apple pie dessert that was an interesting presentation and good as well. Entrees are in the $15 to $30 (filet mignon) with a good selection of choices and appetizers. Their menu can be found on their Facebook page and it is a place I would recommend and return to. No service charge added to the bill and a good deal all the way around. A complimentary round of Limoncello shots was a nice gesture also. Do a little scrolling to see their menu. SUBLIMEToday will likely be a laid back day and spent here at Horny Toad unless something strikes us to venture out.

Your day sounds lovely and some of it - vaguely familiar, too. Thank you so much for the Sublime suggestion - it was awesome and shared with friends? Even more so!
Respectfully,
pat
