So in case you didn’t already figure it out, it’s Thursday and I can’t come up with a rhyme or a song so I guess I’ll leave it at that but the sun is still shining and the air temp are in the 80’s. The waves below our porch are still pounding. I’m in Sint Maarten and all’s good in my world and I hope in yours, too.

We didn’t do much of anything yesterday during the day but laze around on our deck and then, more of the same at the pool. Life is tough but someone’s gotta do it. The water is still pretty rough along our stretch of Simpson Bay but other than our trip to Anse Marcel I don’t have any strong urge to visit other beaches, not even Mullet so far and we’re better than halfway through our trip at this point. There’s something incredibly relaxing about staying literally on the beach, and having a pool is a huge bonus, too. No sand in places you didn’t know you had places so life gets even better yet with all the other benefits.

Our big activity for the day - We attended a meet and greet last night at Palapa Grill and it was so nice. The pictures I’ve seen show about 35 plus or minus attendees but I suspect there were many more than that in attendance who, for whatever the reason, didn’t make it into the photos.

It was an excellent evening - Old friends and new and lots of them. Free flowing rum punch as a welcome gift from Palapa. An innovative decor in what might have otherwise been deemed a falling-down dump thanks to that b itch, Irma and her wrath. What a great and innovative use of space by people with an incredible vision. Very good food. And top that off with the fact we spent the evening with family and new/old but good friends. It just couldn’t have been a more lovely event.

Home and into bed by 11:00 and here we are again.

Coffee and Nutella or chocolate almond croissants for breakfast. Yummmmm and a new day has started!

Respectfully,

pat

Pat--The older I get, the more of a "pool person" I become! I love looking at the ocean, but not such a fan of getting that sand everywhere.. We went to Mullet once on our recent trip, and that was literally the only 'beaching' we did, other than right at home at BSV, and it was lovely!

We are becoming more of a pool couple too. Less hassle packing for a beach and sand cleanup.

And that’s the best description I can think of for BSV - The BEST of BOTH WORLDS!

That is what we like about the infinity pool at Flamingo along with a sandy beach next to pool. Best of both worlds,

Good morning Pat, it's funny it's the same thing for us. For years we used to travel to so many of the other beautiful beaches and as the years have gone by, we just seem to just stay put right there at BSV. As a few have said, best of both worlds there with the beach and the pool. Glad you had a good time at Palapa. Our 1st time there was in April and we went there once a couple of weeks ago. Such a unique place and the food is really good there.

Life is good, and if I can't be there to do it, I'm glad you stepped in to do it. ENJOY!!!!

So you put on your "Thursday Jersey" and hung out at the pool. How I envy you! What a great way to spend the day.
