Daily Herald Article

Just speculation on my part but if the workers are not paid and let's say they walk off the job, what kind of mess would that create?

Airport not totally completed until 2022?? Sounds like a couple of the timeshares on the island.

Pretty sad on all accounts.

It's not clear to me from that story whether the workers will in fact get paid in December or not. And 2022 sure sounds like a long way away. Selfishly, I wish they would get the jetways repaired, or at least have ramps available for boarding all planes.

It seems like the employees will (should be) paid. The way I read it is the quote from the PM was to the MPs saying that if they don't pass the motion then the employees won't be paid. The MPs passed the motion and now the Finance Minister is permitted to sign the agreement with the bondholders which will release the $5m. But it's St Maarten, so who knows...
