My husband and I will be traveling around the Baltic area the end of July and August. I'm hoping someone can provide us with information on money usage. We'll be traveling to the Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Germany, Russia, Denmark and France. I've been doing some on-line research and seem to be getting conflicting information. So I'd like to know: Is the American dollar widely accepted in each of these countries? Which countries use the Euro? (some info indicated Sweden and Denmark do not accept the Euro and other info stated they do.) Is it best to use the currencies of a specific country? Where is the best place either in the US or a given country to get the best exchange rate? Thank you for any information provided. If there is some other info that you can also share that will also be appreciated.

US dollars are not generally accepted. Netherlands, Finland, Estonia, Germany and France use the euro, and your easiest solution is to withdraw euros at ATMs in the countries. Sweden, Russia and Denmark have their own currencies; again, it may be easiest for you to get currency as you need it from ATMs.
