Is it worth joining? Has anyone joined and use it for discounts and benefits?

Been a member for many years. I have received discounts at various lodgings and car rentals.

Many say it is beneficial but keep in mind, they are basically a lobbying group that sells memberships and markets insurance along with other "benefits".

The benefits you get are there if you remember to use it. So easy to forget.

A lot of the benefits from AARP are also available to AAA members, and to any senior citizen who bothers to ask. Plus personally I don't care to provide financial and statistical support to AARP political agenda.
