A few things experienced. Walked down the new boardwalk in Phillipsburg on a Wednesday and was surprised to see some hawkers selling wares/services. I had read they were to be prohibited. In Thursdays Daily Herald it noted 14 people had been arrested for same, I guess they really will be strict about it. It's definitely worth the walk and was nice to see some beachbar/cafes begaining to appear.
Did my annual sit on your glasses thing and discovered two optical outlets one, in Simpson Bay (Dutch) which is sales only and the other in downtown Phillipsburg. Chic Optic down a laneway from Front Street just off the Guavaberry House came to my rescue. My glasses in pretty sad shape were straightened up perfectly at no charge. Patti, who always gets some hair braided on Orient, discovered Lavina's Creative Hair Braiding at 139 Front Street if you walk out of the main Parking lot downtown by the Courthouse, turn right and go uptown, it's on the left, you walk in an opening and go up the stairs. 99 cents a braid, really nice girls there and better braids than she ever got on the beach. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/Thumbsup.gif" alt="" />
Also walked up Back Street, right off the Court House and discovered a couple of clothing stores with incredible prices, e.g. Mens Nike Tank Top Shirts 3 bucks each.
Rented the car once again from Kenny's a sponsor on this site. Lesley Bruce, Mr. Reliability right on time with the car at the Airport and met us back there to pick it up a week later.
It was a brand new Corolla and this year someone scuffed the corner of the back bumper. I was a little nervous wondering what I might have to pay, given the 600.00 deductable. We have all read here about some firms that charge for scratches etc. Lesley took a look and advised not to worry about it, as long as it isn't cracked or broken.
