Sailed under it on our final cruise before selling Jeannius. Much more pleasant going under that bridge than the following 65 ft bridges in the ICW with my 65ft mast
Now I have to find a photo! Give me a little time...
Carefully! It wasn't too bad. In areas were there was a decent tidal range, we just went under bridges at low tide. When there wasn't much of a tidal range, ie Morehead City, we went outside. We did have a bit of a problem around Roanoake where, if the tide was low enough to get under the bridge, then the charts said there wasn't enough water to float. Fortunately it had been recently dredged and we made it.
We did have a real problem in the Dismal Swamp Canal and lost our vhf antenna and wind instruments to a bridge. I'm pretty certain that we caught something hanging below the bridge as there was no reason for that bridge to be lower than the one twenty yards earlier that we passed under without a problem.
Is that your home town the place nobody can get the sauce name right, my guess comes from reading one of your blogs and the age or the look of age of the picture.

You've got it. Where I live now in the UK but not my place of birth which is rather more well known. I took it off my profile but the blog gives it away. The sauce was going to be my second clue, the first being that the river flowing between the cricket ground and the cathedral has the same name as the river flowing into the Chesapeake, just near the bridge in the previous photo. Shall we let it run to see if anyone else can get it or do you want to claim it?
Hey Tom, that’s the old baggage claim building at SXM airport! The hint is you can tell that that person sitting there is waiting for their luggage to pop out of one of those windows. LOL
Well darn Tom, sure did look like the baggage claim area! Lol, don’t know how I missed that one, lol. Back in the game now, we had a little disturbance around us of late. All is good. Ready to play!
So I guess the Man with the beer is up next? So I’ll go ahead and Pre Guess, (without a photo), Europe, Iceland, BVI, Midwest, Left Coast, Spain, Med. these are my answers, sorry Beerman, I read a lot, lol! Gosh Tom, I may have broken a rule by Pre Guessing.
Tom--Only been to Happy Bay once. We rented a villa right above it last June, but too lazy to make the trek down there, and most especially, back UP from there!

Absolutely Beerman, I lived in New Bern for over eighteen years. I meet my wife there back in 1991 and we still have strong ties in New Bern. Lawyers, Realtors, and even know the administrator of the hospital. He was in our wedding! LOL. and just about anything else you may need, very hooked in to that town, but now in N Topsail Beach, by choice of moving around. But by all means please PM me, no worries sir. Be glad to help!
The only thing I think of that is of that magnitude around here is Great Falls I have not been there since the mid-60s so I just a vague memory. Just remember being in awe of all the water.
Great Falls?
