As is my habit, I just checked our late November flights from BDL to SXM and found there had been a significant change to our flight details. No more 8 am departure - now 6 am - and no more CLT connection for our flights - now MIA. It’s all doable but just not as convenient for us.
I did not receive an email but the change happened overnight and it was noted in my reservation as a change in service. So, keep checking your records, Peeps!
Respectfully,
pat

Our November 26th flight out of Charlotte was cancelled. We had to reschedule to the 28th.

Us also. We now leave BWI at 7am (was 5am) with an 1 hour an 24 minutes in Miami before a flight to SXM that now leaves 1 hour and 21 minutes earlier. We have gone from 4 hours in Miami to 1 1/2 hours. I like the return home because it gives us 2 and 1/2 to clear customs and immigration before our connecting flight. (Before was 1 1/2 hours)
Hopefully nothing but minor changes going forward.

Pat, we just got the shaft as well, cancelled the direct PDX to CLT. Will deal with it all later but their solution would put us landing a day later, three flights a hotel along the way. Quick glance does not have many good options.

This whole airline situation is getting totally out of control, but the thing is, I get it. Sometimes I feel like there’s a conspiracy going on and they’re out to get me but most times things work out for me and I know we’re all dealing with the same brand of nonsense, as are the airlines. When I first saw the changes to our tickets this morning I contacted AA and they were very pleasant but not able to do much to make the situation better. We have FF tickets r/t from Hartford to SXM and would really have preferred to travel through our regional airport less than a half hour from home but there weren’t any FF tickets available. The CSR tried to swap them anyway but a higher authority wouldn’t allow that to happen since the required miles were double and then some of what we originally used. But the good news - they told me to keep checking because anything could happen and more FF tix could come available. Just a few minutes ago I remembered I hadn’t chosen seats so I went on line and just for hahas, I checked the status of FF tix from our regional airport and they were now available. I put them on hold and called AA direct and we are now booked on the flights I wanted from the very getgo. Now let’s see how long that lasts before they make more changes. I know this is very frustrating for all of us displaced travelers but honestly, it’s equally frustrating to the airline reps. In most cases they don’t know what’s going on until after the fact and try as they might, sometimes they just can’t make things better. I seriously hope everyone is able to work their flights out to their personal satisfaction and at the same time, I hope this is the last set of changes for all of us. Good luck, Everyone, and here’s to happy island times.
Respectfully,
pat

Looking at that as well as SEA-MIA, LAX-MIA, DFW-MIA spend the night at MIA but no Red Eye. Purchased with AA, will see what they provide via Alaska Air. Don't even mind buying the AS ticket to SEA but don't want to lose the big seats along the way.
Presently in flight from SAN to PDX, will start my calls when I get home. AA has done us well in the past I expect that this will work out but it does add to the travel time and is a PITA.

Cruzer,
I have no doubt you will be able to get a FULL refund in whatever manner you originally purchased your tickets since it's the airline that made the changes and they are being very liberal with refunds during this time. Good luck and I hope all things work out for you.

All worked out for MJ and I, the AA rep was fantastic and gave me the flights that I wanted. Changed to spending a night along the way but that will be fine as we will be better rested when we get to the island. With all that is going on in this world it makes it pretty tough to complain about changes like this. Cheers and good luck to all else that will get to deal with the flight changes!

GND? You're routed through Grenada? Much as I wanted to make a stopover in SXM, there were just too many moving, non-refundable parts to attempt this, so we just settled on GND. Looks like this trip will be rescheduled to May/Jun, ideally with a week of 2 in SXM (We have hotel credit at Mary's Boon).

PDX - DFW - MIA spend night MIA SXM. Hotel at airport $109 for a king room, easy and no shuttle. This allowed us to leave after noon so we can get some work in before we leave, easy to find the positive.
