Street art - it’s scattered all across the island and is so very beautiful. It seems like so many flat surfaces that are safely accessible have been adorned with unbelievably beautiful artwork. Who knew there was so much talent?! And the other really surprising thing from what we’ve seen is once it’s in place it’s allowed to stay in its beauty for all to enjoy. We haven’t seen any that’s been tagged by those who would otherwise mess it up as I’m afraid would most likely happen at home.

What a funny morning...... the surf is pounding right now and we actually have a sand cliff in front of our unit with a narrow walkway in the sand between our sand chairs and the cliff. I couldn’t swim in that water if I was of a mind to. Which I’m NOT. And as the day progressed, so did the waves although now it’s a combination of crashers and gentle ones with no rhyme or reason. We saw two swimmers here all day in the ocean and that’s as far up and down the beach as I can see. And the sun? It finally came out just in time for cocktails. Can’t speak for the rest of the island but it’s been really an untypical SXM weather day today. But I’m not complaining, for sure. But we still managed to enjoy some sun and pool time.

And now, at the end of the day, the sun has fully come out and it’s gorgeous - just in time to shower and think about dinner.

Drawing ever so close to the end of our trip and so many places unseen and things undone but it’s all been good.

Dinner tonight was at BarCode and it was ever so good, as was the company. Three of the four of us had a white bean soup and the last hold-out had a grilled mahi mahi filet - all of which were very good. They have just reopened from a long siege in which the owners became parents of triplets. So c’mon, peeps, they’re going to need all the support we can give them.

And I finally got my BBC! Yummy!

Respectfully,

pat

Glad Bar Code reopened. Don’t forget to check out La Bodega. Another great spot in Cupecoy. I know this is a silly question as I’m pretty sure I know the answer but any work being done on the Starz complex?

Not a thing going on that we could see but truthfully, it’s been in disrepair for so long I’ve forgotten where it was last year this time. It looks POSSIBLY like the old main entrance to Treasure Island/Atlantis/Starz Casino building itself may have had some minor work done but not enough to scream ‘look at the improvements’. Every time we’ve gone by there has been a car parked right there that had real estate signs but that could have been purely coincidental since we haven’t been there that often.

It’s what some might call a sissy drink that could be served with paper umbrellas and frilly toothpicks but I call it a great substitute for dessert. I think they’re made with banana, Baileys, and coco Lopez whisked in a blender and chocolate syrup lacing the glass. Yummy....... It may not sound too terrific when you say it but it sure does taste good going down.

Thanks for the report. I was thinking those huge monstrosities that they are building in Cupecoy would block the view from Bar Code?

In all honesty, I’ve never really paid any attention to views from Barcode. We are generally there with friends and too busy chatting away to notice them if they exist(ed) but I’m sure between Fourteen on the Green (if that’s even still the name......) on the golf course and all the other high rises in that area there can’t be much of a view left if there ever was one.

Now when the Cliff Hanger was still there, OMG! That was the place for views........

OK, I got the impression that the monstrosities were going to be RIGHT THERE in front of the entrance of Bar Code, but maybe not.

They are across the street from Starz and Cupecoy Beach Club at the edge of the golf course. Bar code never really had a view as there were derelict apartments across the road. They were torn down (after Irma??) and BC had a small view. Too dark to tell last night, didn't notice the view honestly.
