I know I have seen it before but can't find the thread with a search.
We are celebrating my twins' graduation from college with a week on my brother's boat which is now being chartered out of St. Thomas. We will be there for most of the month but have friends arriving on June 17th and since we pick up the boat that day we would like to pick them up from the airport by boat. I know we can anchor in Lindbergh Bay but can we anchor at Druif/Honeymoon on Water Island and dinghy over? He has a center console dinghy so a little more durable than the typical charter dinghy. Also, where do we tell them to meet us? Is there a dock or is it beach access only?

I would have them taxi to Crown Bay Marina and dinghy into there.

Our last sail the crew dropped us off at Emerald Beach and then a short taxi ride or walk to the airport.

Was that post hurricanes? Did you have to land the dinghy on the beach or was there a dock? Could a couple young adults walk it with carryon bags?

I second the Crown Bay Marina drop. We typically wait at Tickles before grabbing the Crown Bay ferry to STJ. MANY people are in and out with dinghies picking up guests/provisioning etc. Tickles is a great spot to grab a drink in case your crew needs to wait on your pick up, or you need to wait for their delayed flight.

With carry-on only I think it's a pretty easy walk from the airport to the Emerald Beach. Paved sidewalk the whole way. We've always ended up taking a short cab ride (after staying at the hotel post-charter) because we were hauling larger bags. To my knowledge there's never been a dock at or near the Emerald Beach. You'd have to land the dinghy. The aerial view on Google Maps shows it well. Dan

Easy walk airport to Lindbergh Bay -- beach pickup only -- no big problem . It is easier and dry + logistic for all to pick up at Crown Bay Marina. Last minute provision at Pueblo there too.

Yes, the dinghy was landed on the beach in front of the hotel. It really is an easy walk with carry ons. We were lazy and took a cab for $10.
