This was our 5th trip to the island and it was the first in a while that only my husband and myself have gone without anyone else.........so sand gravity really took place on this trip! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/Umbrella.gif" alt="" />
First I would like to say do NOT look at the weather posted anywhere.......the weather was wonderful, but very very windy, it rained on a few occassion but did not in any way ruin our vacation!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/Banana.gif" alt="" />
My husband scuba dives so most of my time was spent at the Flamingo beach, which suits me just fine, the only other beaches we went to were Baie Rouge and Mullet, which Mullet is my favorite, eating ribs and chicken from Rosie's and sitting there on the beach oooooooohhhhhhhh what a feeling <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/Clapping.gif" alt="" />
We rented a car from Kennys and he was there on time for us to pick it up and to drop it off, perfect service!
We tempted to go into Philipsburg to go to Antoines for dinner and we could not for the life of us find a place to park, they say valet parking and we did not see anyone and the traffic was backed up for quite a bit, so we back tracked and went to Le Bec Fin for dinner, what a nice restaurant, drove by it a million times and finally tried it, had the duck and hubby had the beef tenderloin and a bottle of wine and of course for dessert we had the Grand Marnier souffle, very good food and service.
Others we tried:
Cheri's, food ok, drinks a little pricey, is it just me or is the show getting a little too raunchy?
Calmos Cafe: Food just ok, ribs were very chewy, but you can't beat sitting on the beach with your toes in the sand having a drink and watching the sunset, perfect evening!
Hot Tomatoes: Food very good, had the jerk chicken pizza, yummy
Lees: Food very good.
Paris Bistro: Had the mahi mahi and the chocolate cake for dessert.....did not share <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/hungry.gif" alt="" />, watched the dancers come out of Casino Royale and dance on the street, nice way to end your meal!
SSBB: Had burgers and chicken sandwhich, watched the planes come in........my favorite place to hang out!
and tried Peg Leg for the first time and Shawn is such a nice guy......tried the petite filet and ooohh was that yummy, melt in your mouth yummy!
Skipped Marios this year and what a big mistake, next year it is a must!
Gambled at Casino Royale, Dolphin, and Hollywood......lost at all of them <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/Mad.gif" alt="" /> but had fun anyway.
The island looks great, seemed to be more traffic and windy this year.......but when your in paradise.......who cares! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/Laugh.gif" alt="" />
