Beach is high on my list so can I get this in mexico with good room and beach a walk from the room?

Mexico is a large country. Could you narrow the geography, type of accommodations expected and price point.

Tulum area is what I am thinking

Most of the resorts on the beach in Tulum will have access to a secluded spot where you can skinny dip. Xamas Dos and Nueva Vida de Ramiro both are know for nude beach use but I'm not too sure about how strolling naked from your room to the beach would be accepted. It would depend upon the guests staying at the time.

Mak Nuk in Tulum is much less rustic and more nude friendly but not on the beach. The condos are quite modern and comfortable. The pool at Mak Nuk is one of the best we have seen in the area. Each first floor suite has a private entrance with a small channel leading to the main pool. The second floor suites have private hot tubs and the top floor is equipped with individual plunge pools. They frequently run a shuttle to their (as of now) unimproved section of beach to enjoy the Caribbean au natural.

Also in that area is Hidden Beach Resort . A very high end, all inclusive hotel that is all nude all the time. They have really great service, wonderful activites, a fantastic pool but the beach is puny and rocky. They are a little expensive too.

There is a nude beach south of the Tulum ruins. Locogringo.com will give you a lot of good info on the area.

Yes, it's a ways from Tulum. But the original information request was for nude beach vacation info in "Mexico"…not Tulum specifically. A trip to Zipolite is a far better nude beach vacation than anything on Mexico's east coast IMHO. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />

I would expect better surfing, too. I've long dreamed of a "C/O surfing safari" to Mexico's Pacific Coast, but stories of hostile locals or police have discouraged me. So where are these nude beach opportunities on Mexico's west coast?

Zipolite beach is a nice beach and the locals are very tolerant of nudity BUT as I posted on a previous post the place is rampant with thieves so be prepared to lock down everything and don't drop your gaurd. The people are poor and robberies ( in all forms ) are frequent. Our room was robbed while we were away for 1.5 hours for supper and 3 days later another couple were robbed at gun point in their room and there are robberies that take place on the beach etc. It is a tourist victim hot spot for theives since there is virtually no police pressence. The nearest police presence is over an hour away. I would not recommend this place until the locals take charge and keep this from happening but I'm afraid there is an inborn element of thievery in the culture there that has existed for decades and likely will not change soon.

Yeah, that was the feeling I had in Mazatlan - the only thing stopping rampant robberies was the presence of guards with machine guns, and the money to pay for such protection doesn't come from nudist visitors. I suspect the "culture" started with the conquistadors.

I've booked myself into Cambium in the Dominican Republic for April 20 so hopefully no robberies there. Its a new place so will see how it goes.
Would love to see others there.

Absolutely. I'll be there for 23 days so should have something to say.

If you are referring to Cabanas Copal, that is basically closed. It was our old favorite beach too, two or three times a week, all winter.

The Dominican Republic is a different country than Mexico (Tulum Ruins).

Dominican Republic is about 1100 miles east of Tulum Ruins.

Loco Gringo is mostly about Mexico as is this thread.
