What's the seaweed situation like now? We got quite a bit come in here yesterday during the day. Are there working bathrooms near the Perch now?

Can't speak to the seaweed right now, but when we were there in February, the toilet situation was the same makeshift setup that has been there for the last couple of years...

Well, we just got back from a lovely day at Orient. There was basically ZERO seaweed, no waves, just a beautiful day at Club O, light breeze. There were no waves, no cliff, just a really easy entry into the water. There is a toilet there, but I didn't use it. Around1:30 we went down to Le String for a long, late lunch. It was good, not great. It was PACKED, with 90% of the people being French, some in large groups. I sent my meal back because it was cold, and they replaced it, very swiftly. Kudos for that. I had a skirt steak with french fries (sorry, about a 1 on the French fry scale) and Eric had a tuna steak. We had a lovely bottle of Cote de Provence, and a lovely long lunch overall.

Back here around 4, with 3 planes leaving about the time we arrived and at least 3 more since then. We are in for the evening.

We went through Grand Case on the way back and made reservations for 5:30 for tomorrow for Ocean 82. You gotta do, what you gotta do..

Was hoping you'd walk a little further and have lunch at Orang Fever. Their FFs are on the highend of the scale. Give it a try next time.

There's a new place on Orient, Sun Beach. I know very little about it, other than that the same people are SBH locals who own Lil' Rock on St Barth. I'm curious about experiences, if anyone ever goes there.

Thanks for the update on Orient. It is so much nicer there without all the sea grass piling up on the shore. Curious to here how it goes at Ocean 82. That was at one time our favorite restaurant in Grand Case.

Sun Beach Clubber...went there on a sunday during our Dec/Jan trip when we didn't know better...had a decent time, saw Soley play with Dread 'i sitting in...paid 25 euro for 2 chairs/1 umbrella...had only ordered a bottle of wine, no food, so don't know if chairs would have been free with meal purchase

next time back to orient that trip, checked out Orange Fever next door...only $10 for 2 chairs/1 umbrella, $1=1 euro, or free if having a meal...so only went to Orange Fever during May trip

regulars to St. Barth, but are not willing to pay SBH prices in SXM

We technically rented chairs from the fellow next to Club O. Our chairs were RIGHT next to Club O chairs, but so much more comfortable. I felt kinda bad, not renting from Cedrick, but at least we hadn't hauled our own chairs!! laugh It was $20 for two chairs WITH LOVELY PADS, a table and an umbrella. I thought it was WELL worth the price. I actually don't know what the Club O price is for chairs at the moment, but they are doing the weekly pass, as the people next to us did it. I asked Cedric about rebuilding Club O, and he said something to the effect of "maybe in the fall, maybe February". I think they will probably bulldoze everything that is there, which makes sense..

I walked through the property at Club O when we were on the island back in March into April. IMHO, there isn't much that is worth saving, sadly. IMHO, it's is a demo and totally new build coming. The grounds were a disaster!! No structure is safe. Hey?? Now maybe they will build a pool as so many in the past have expressed! Good to hear that the beach guys are on top of it!! Just to let you know, Louise and I had a fabulous lunches at Kontiki!!!

Bathroom is still there. A little rustic for some but still a necessity at times.

Sun Clubber is not new to Orient. They were wiped out during Irma and rebuilt. Good food, but pricey. Great service too.

I was at Le String today and was glad I wasn't any closer to Sun Clubber. LOUD music with thumping bass that could be heard all the way down the beach.

Considering how busy Le String was yesterday, I can't imagine how busy it was today, considering it was Sunday. Driving through Mullet late this afternoon, the cars parked all over were CRAZY.

No holiday in SXM today. It is flag day in the USA today.

Don't know.

The parking at Mullet was insane yesterday around 4:30 when we heading to grand case. Never see so many cars in such a small space, not to mention all along the golf course, etc. it was a pain to even drive thru because of all of the cars parked everywhere.

Stay here, we never go to like mullet or even orient on sundays... Why?
