If you are looking at B&Bs, I would consider Crystal Palace. Humble host, historic house. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Thumbsup.gif" alt="" />

chriskat said: Thanks for the feedback. Have heard good things about the Crystal Palace on this forum and elsewhere. His website says a three-night minimum, though it looks like you can pay an extra $20 if you only need to stay one night. His airport pickup will save you that much or more :-)

You'll get lots of preferences and valuable opinions here on the forum. I have a pre-done email with a comprehensive list of accommodations on St.Thomas, which includes links to their web sites and reviews. It might serve as a helpful reference while you are weighing out your options. You (or anyone else) are welcome to email me at monk@madriver.com, and I'll shoot it right out to you.

While Frank gives some good information, his list is not comprehensive, he acknowledges he doesn't even like St Thomas and he leans heavily on Trip Advisor reviews.
For St Thomas recommendations, ask St Thomians. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" />

Hi Nutmeg... You are absolutely right about the best resource being STT folks. There are surely other options, but my list has been compiled over the years strictly from TTOL'ers positive recommendations, not because of TripAdvisor reviews. I only included those review links to help the reader - the reviews actually vary quite a bit, but they can often include some good info about the places. e.g. if 10 people say the steps to a hotel are very steep, then they probably are. I am not being defensive (really!), but whether or not I like St. Thomas has had no effect on the list. If you or any other TTOL'ers have some accommodations that would be valuable to add to the list, please let me know. The whole point is to provide a useful resource.

Okay, Frank, but your list is pretty outdated. Villa Olga and Bean, Bites are both closed. I still think that asking here for updated information serves visitors better than a generic e-mail list. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />
P.S. I think this board is a useful resource. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Wink.gif" alt="" />

Not "from" STT but we have stayed at Island View Guest house on many occasions (generally post charter)...it is NOT near anything and we LOVE it. Great folks...what a view...and on the weekend they grill the best steak on the island....seriously!! We have nothing but praise for IVGH

Evan: You have to watch out about Galleon House. I stayed there many a year ago when I was checking out St Thomas. Had dinner at Cuzzin's and ended up moving here... <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Wink.gif" alt="" />
