With all the beauty of St. Maarten, I find it sad they (whomever ‘they’ is....) chose that to be an emblem of the island. So many of us think it’s just one more eyesore ruining the beach views as one approaches.........😕😕

I just went on their website and according to them, every unit has been sold. If you click on each building, it lists all the units. Both buildings A and B have sold beside every unit. I’m I the only one having a hard time believing this?

I would be really surprised at that, yes.

I don't know if it's all sold out or not but back in April when we were on island we were told by someone usually in the know that the first building was initially 'Sold Out' and that was the criteria for starting the second tower. I mean, lets face it - it's a beautiful location if they had decent roads. It's a beautiful location if they could provide their own PRIVATE BEACH CLUB. And it's a beautiful location if you aren't at all concerned about island services to the building such as fire, police and security, and utilities. Just my personal opinion........

It is a great looking building but a bit out of place. Miami Beach would be a better spot. Just wonder with all that glass how it will do in the next major hurricane and one will come. VERY expensive to buy there. So many better Real Estate properties for the money. IMO

Where you stay has squat to do with selecting this as an emblem of SXM. I stay at SBR and THAT has squat to do with the "emblem"....it is about the choice made to represent the Island
...and yes, it does look like Miami

It is nothing more than a Puff-Piece article that was placed for marketing. "Emblem for Sint Maarten", I'm quite sure was the Developer's chosen words. He has probably made a significant purchase in the classified section and this is the payback. He might even want to drop the "three pelicans" on top of one of the Towers and create some type of super emblem.
Be Happy! Simply because you deserve to be. 😁

Disgusting. Developers are ruining everything! Too much. Miami, NYC, SXM and I'm sure all over the place. I suspect there is a lot of laundry being done. Just saying. Don't know. But Pirates of the Caribbean is what we used to call them when we lived there. And not just us! Cheers. Maybe i

I agree with what bdeeley said. Most likely just the author kissing up to the developers. And I'm still happy I won't be able to see them from the other side of the island.

I agree......the hurricane ravaged ruins from the 90's were much more palatable.

"Through the project, around 20 different companies of which 90 per cent are local gained employment. “Upon the completion of this project, we will subsequently create employment opportunities in the areas of management, maintenance and hospitality.”

IMO Well, my friends who were brokers of the units in Blue Mall, and also owned and lived in the BM...will tell you NOT VERY WELL! The windows busted, Irma came straight through. They lost their belongings, pets, and almost their lives.

I agree. I don't read anything in the article beyond a marketing "puff" piece. Certainly nothing that suggests there is any discussion about this becoming an "official" emblem of St. Maarten. It is just the developer doing PR, suggesting that he hopes the two towers might become "emblematic" (a more accurate word than emblem in this instance, of what is being suggested, IMO) of the "progress" of new development on the island. His point-of-view certainly; definitely not mine!!

I’m I the only one having a hard time believing this? I agree - I don't believe that all units are sold, either, at least not to people who will use them. More likely they have been scooped up by speculators, who will hold onto them until demand increases and the price goes up. Here in the GTA there are many, many condo towers in which large numbers of units have been sold but sit empty while the owners wait to cash in. Property like this is considered "currency" in some respects. On another note, I hope those towers have good generators to keep power running in a hurricane. I once lived on the 24th floor of a tower, got home one night to find the power out. It's a long hike up 20 or so floors. A long hike down, too.
