Today Westjet cancelled their flights to SXM from YYZ Toronto for Feb 1 2022 and Feb 10 2022.
I come back to Toronto on Feb 10th. It is the second cancellation for Feb 10. Air Canada and now Westjet.
I have now booked with Sunwing for Feb 10th SXM to YYZ.
Keep an eye on your flights as I had NO notification of the cancellation from Westjet. I had to hear it from a friend.
My flight is still a go on Air Canada this Thursday YYZ to SXM.... fingers crossed.

We were supposed to be on that flight. Called yesterday and now are scheduled for the flight on Sunday February 27. Fingers crossed that it goes. Our flight home on March 29th is still showing that it is going.

Surprised to hear you managed to get through by phone to Westjet. Not an easy task. Wait times have been 8 hours at times. I'm surprised that they did not automatically bump you to the Thursday flight Feb 24.
Well keep your fingers crossed 🤞. Let's hope that no further flights are canceled.
I fly to SXM from Toronto this Thursday on AC. Already have my EHAS QR coded pre-approval . Hopefully the weather will cooperate and the flight goes ahead.

We called at 5pm, put our phone on speaker and went about our usual routines. The agent connected at 8. The email we received from Westjet said that there were changes to our flight and they were not able to accomodate us. We didn't want to lose our flight home so thought we would call instead of waitng for a callback. I am ok witht the change. Just means we are there for a little over 4 weeks instead of 5 weeks.
I wish you smooth travel down and back and a wonderful time when you are there.

Well done ! It does take a lot of patience and determination. I was down the first couple weeks of October and a few weeks at the end of November and early December. I am doing odd jobs around my place so it is a bit of a work vacation. Nothing major, just stuff I wanted to do for the last couple of years when I couldn't get there. Thank you for the good wishes.
Cheers Dr Phil SXM

We were on the Feb 1 flight returning to Toronto as well. Looks like WJ is just dropping all the Tuesday flights and moving them to the Sunday. When I looked at seat map last week it seemed like a lot of seats were available, maybe they are seeing less demand due to Canadas travel advisory. We ended up moving to a connecting flight thru NYC on Feb 1 return (didn't want to lose 2 days in SXM). United had space earlier this week.

Patience is key here with West Jet. We had a flight also cancelled. No notification. My husband was on hold with West Jet for over an hour and then requested a call back. They could not get back too him until one week later.
