Since we don't live there, we can't decide anything. We can simply express our opinion and vote with our wallets.

How about for the health of those living on St. John? Maybe it tastes good, maybe its cheap, but there's no arguing it is incredibly bad for you. A regular burger at any other place that serves it on St. John would be far better. Hard to comment on the starbucks as I'm not familiar with your neighborhood, but apparently the end of your street is not residential. A burger prepared by a locally owned establishment is no better or worse than one prepared by McDonalds, either one of them will clog your arteries as quick as you can say twoallbeefpattiesonasesameseedbun....help!

Oh Unregistered. Thank you so much for your opinion. I think a burger now and then is not a bad thing. Live long and prosper! irina

You forgot the "special sauce", that's the kicker! Not to mention the preservatives in the fast food breads and the BIGGIE SIZE everything for an extra 5 cents <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Yikes.gif" alt="" /> I do love those damn fries every once in a while though!!! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" /> Everything in moderation as they say, just don't try to limit my BEER and RUM when on vacation!!!! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/toast.gif" alt="" />

The biggest thing I hate about the fast food places is the size. What happened to small?? Seriously - a small drink and fry today is what large was years ago.
I don't get why some places in the US try to restrict how large the large can be (NYC for example) when they should simple regulate what a small, medium and large size should equal and then let the restaurant name the larger sizes whatever they want.. If someone wants a super duper jumbo, let them get it, but the rest of us should be able to get a reasonable small, med or large..

Oh yeah I forgot about the Pizza Hut on top of the KFC in Cairo. Fast Food, Block Stores, and High Rise hotels just doesn't belong. The island is 65% National Park. Just what the island needs are drive through trash bags 1/2 full of French fries all over the side of the road. The Natl Park and the mongoose population do not need a golden arch hemorrhoid. If you need to eat in hurry - STJ is not your kind of place.

It has been 6+ years since I was in St. John, but didn't there used to be a Subway in Cruz Bay?

So they can NOT say its chicken. People thought they didn't want to say the F word in their name "Fried" so it worked out for them until now. Can't believe everything you read on the internet.. http://www.snopes.com/horrors/food/wormburger.asphttp://www.snopes.com/food/tainted/kfc.aspThat being said though, the quality of their beef and chicken is awful by comparison to good meat. I have my doubts about Snopes. The food industry is so big that they're Bribing OOPS! Lobbying congress, farmers, and news companies and they have Snopes that tells the truth in some cases where it makes them SEEM reputable. My personal opinion.

Oh, give me a break. Find someplace else to rail against the horrors of fast food.
