Flying from SJU to EIS.....InterCaribbean may be my only option. Lots of posts on TTOL about bad experiences with them....cancelled flights etc. Has anyone successfully used them recently? Thanks.

They were struggling for quite a while in the fall/winter. Apparently they got new aircraft which the pilots were not certified to fly off the bat. So they had flights booked, and pilots, but the pilots weren't certified to fly the new planes.
Apparently they are now and things have been better.

I have been watching their flights. They have been running about a 80% completion rate. It does seem to have improved a bit lately. The regional airlines are losing pilots faster than they can hire new ones so that situation can change rapidly.

How do you track their completion rate?

Nevermind. FlightAware appears to be the place for tracking. Thanks all.

Flight aware is the place and you can actually track flights between city pairs. SJU-EIS being the one to watch. G

Go to flightaware.com. Select flight tracking and then flight finder. Type in the city pair making sure you select the airport from the drop down menu. The news is not good today for Intercaribbean. Two of the 3 flights are already canceled.

They were 1 for 3 yesterday and 3 for 3 today. I guess we will roll the dice.

Fingers crossed..my sister and nephew are flying them from Antigua next Wed ( I suggested flying Miami to STT but this was a lot cheaper they say). Hard to believe how some businesses are being run these days.

Is Intercaribbean flying the larger plane from SJU to EIS All I see is the E120. I thought they obtained ATR42 to sue for this run.

All Ive been seeing on FlightAware for SJU/EIS is the E120.....but, I've only been tracking for about a week. Perhaps they are using the ATR42s for other routes to free up E120s?

They look like they are running about a 40% cancel rate this week. They probably need to look at a schedule pull down.

Yes, reducing scheduled flights to match their real capacity. Currently almost every airline including the major ones are running at their redline. They cut back way to much with covid but can’t stand the thought of spilling revenue. As a consequence they are putting out schedules that can only be flown by relying on extensive overtime and perfect weather. One hitch in the system and things immediately start cascading into cancelations and delays. The airlines are short employees in almost every category.

We used them to get here. Others in our party did as well and we did have a bit of an issue. The airport board listed our flight as delayed but when we got to the gate the flight was actually canceled. However, they had already booked us onto the earlier flight that had been delayed a couple of hours so it all worked out. Our lesson was always head to the gate right away no matter what the board says.
