Sailing out of Moorings, Rodney Bay. Is there a hotel at the Moorings Base? What would be one or two nice hotels near the Moorings Base? Thanks.

I wasn't sure where the base was and a simple Google search found this: Moorings base information. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Wink.gif" alt="" />

No hotels in the marina, but several nearby in all price ranges. We usually stay at the Bay Gardens Inn or Bay Gardens Hotel when there.

Drink all day at home, your friends worry about you; do it on vacation and they say "what a good time you're having". Save your friends needless worry, travel more!

Check Trip Advisor for Gros Islet

Or evening start on boat, and get off the dock early?

I would just do the evening start. This gives you a chance to go over the boat and get familiar with it that evening and get off the dock earlier the next day.
