Link to Daily Herald story

It will be good news, to have more choices at the airport, whenever it is finally done.

What would be nice is if there will once again be a regular sit-down restaurant in the terminal, with --dare I say it?? -- a view of the runways? Now that would be nice. I REALLY miss Cafe Juliana..

I miss Cafe Juliana so much. And then the one they did upstairs overlooking the immigration area, that one was ok as well.

Also miss the Executive Lounge with a/c, drinks, food, wifi, and restrooms.

The one in the new airport was OK, food was very pedestrian, but Cafe Juliana definitely was the best. The Executive Lounge was nice also, for sure. Hopefully the 'new' airport will have that again. It was worth the money to me, even paying each time to go there, if the wait was very long.

The view of the runway was one of the best parts about CJ. I have no idea whether the story is true or not, but I heard that someone powerful on the PJIA board or management made sure that the restaurant upstairs at the new airport did NOT have a view of the runway, just to spite the person who was supposed to operate that restaurant. Hopefully the new design will be based on what the customers want, which is a view of the runway..

I heard that same story too. Not sure if it was gospel but not hard to believe.

I always went into the executive lounge. Can’t remember the name. Started with an S. It was quiet with better AC and WIFI. Definitely worth the $20 or whatever it cost. Hopefully they can duplicate it with a new one.

This is again, a wait and see thing! I for one, will not be holding my breath as the food before Irma wasn't very impressive either!! Making a pitstop before going to the airport is a hassle but ten times better than any that is or was there. Now the old airport (twenty years ago) had that little restaurant that had some good food upstairs!! I remember it being tight and smoky!!

We also were huge fans of Cafe Juliana but then, most everyone who tried it once was. πŸ™‚πŸ™‚
