A quick not e to let everyone know, if you are in the area on Halloween we are having a Dinghy Poker Run in North Sound. North Sound Bistro is the host, and Saba Rock, Bitter End Yacht Club and Leverick Bay are all card stops, as well as one by Sandbox. The event is raising funds for a purified water drinking fountain in a school here in Virgin Gorda, we have partnered with the Rotary Club for this. At Blunder Bay Marina we will have a dock party with Its a aSecret Band, great food, and a costume contest with cash prizes. Come help us do something good for Virgin Gorda while having a great time as well. You can call 542 5400 or 499 2400 for more info, and check Facebook for more.

For those of us who won't be there, is there some way to donate via PayPal, etc. to the water fountain project?

I would be interested in donating as well.
And off topic Tom but are you planning anything at the Bistro for NYE? Tentatively have dinner there penciled in for that night. Not looking for anything special but do need the water taxi.

Good Morning, to all who would like to support the Rotary School Fountain Program! Excited to hear your interest, Gavin Dooley who is the head of Rotary and working with us is looking into ways that we can do this. First, the idea for the program is to install purified water drinking fountains in all the schools in the BVI, starting at the primary level and working up. The benefits for the children are pretty clear as access to clean water is key to good health. Also the reduction in plastic waste will be significant. His first question is " Are any of the donors over 5 grand?" as this will have impact with US tax laws and the regulations for non-profits here in the BVI. If you like, you can call me directly at 284 499 2400 with what you had in mind. Or you can contact Gavin Dooley at 440 6242. One way or another we will figure out a way that we can get this done! And Happy Halloween! to you can reach me at tom@blunderbay.vg and I will forward to Gavin Dooley.

Good day all. The Dinghy Poker Run is still on tho we are watching the weather a bit. No panic yet! We have a simplified format for doing the Dinghy Poker Run which is approximately as follows....there are four venues participating in a edition to Blunder Bay. Rum Runner ( the orange boat )at Sandbox, Saba Rock, Leverick Bay Resort and Marina and ourselves. At each stop sometime during the day, purchase an item and save the receipt. These four receipts are presented by 6 pm to the Cardmaster at Blunder Bay, the Tally Sheet is bought for 50 bucks, and the five cards are drawn at that time. If you want to play multiple hands, you must have multiple receipts - for example if you are playing three hands, you need three proofs of purchase from Rum Runner, Saba Rock, Bitter End and Leverick Bay respectively. The purchases must be bar or restaurant related from the parent company on each property. Can be any kind of item tho, a boutique purchase, a beer, and a basket of fries is fine, just ask for separate receipts for each item. Keep your receipts safe and dry. All purchases must be made on Oct 31. more info and the full rules sheet is available from me via email....tom@blunderbay.vg.

Well we had a great time! Not a huge turnout but TTOL was well represented by 'xrayman67' I hope I remember that correctly. Lots of carrying on, good hands of poker, and a wonderful costume contest dominated by......wait for it.....pirate outfits. 300 dollar prize to the best one! Best part is that we were successful in raising the money that we hoped for and with the collection of a pledge.........we will be able to do what we set out to do. Thank you to all who helped to move this forward and we hope to see you all next year!
