Thanks for the pics. It's been a while since I've been there, but don't remember those swings. Where are they, versus the restaurant?

That looks like the new restaurant, 986, or something like that?

Oh, Ok. Sorry. I was thinking he said FBBC. That's the only restaurant there I have been to.

I think it's where Kali's was, or next door to Kali's, if Kali's is still there. We only go to FBBC as well, so I'm not really sure, and we didn't get there this past trip at all.

That's the newest one; the name is a three-digit number.

Thank you! I doubt we'll go there, as we're avid FBBC fans, but it does look inviting. I sure do wish FBBC would bring back pads for their beach chairs.

You know I really hate most Facebook pages, as I can't ever seem to find a menu. Is there a menu on there somewhere?

They don't make it easy to find a menu. I did googlemap the place and then clicked on their pin and that came up with more on the place which had pictures of their menu as well as links to their website which I did not find a menu on. It would be nice if they made it easier to find a menu, facebook or even their website. Looks nice, a step up from Kali's but not sure it is to FBBC level although it did look like they might have pads for chairs.

Not certain if this is the reason for no posted menu but we were told the menu changed daily. We’ve been there on consecutive days and were not able to order the same thing we had the day before - a half pineapple with a ham salad filling and it was yummy - and that’s when they told us about the daily menu changes. Makes sense to me……

Respectfully,

pat

Pat--I totally get that any restaurant will change specials every day, but there have to be at least a few dishes they always have. They can always say that the menu changes daily, in terms of specials. But the cost of entres and what is offered in general, is not that different, regardless of specials. Having a menu online is a must, to me.

I guess it’s me but I don’t mind being surprised.
The only things I recall being consistently available at FBBC were the burgers and club sandwiches. I thought the Croque Monsieurs were but one time there I debated and ordered something else in the end knowing we were coming back the next day. Yup! You guessed it…….. No CMs that next day but it really didn’t matter since everything there is so very good. 🙂🙂

pat

If you go to their Facebook page and scroll down a little, there are several menu pages, as well as a link to see all menu items.

I believe the black menus are for 978 Sanctorum, the restaurant-in-home just down from the turnoff to Loterie. They have dinners by their pool on weekend nights.

Bdeeley has copied and pasted them for you. Not sure why you couldn't find them.

Like I said, i couldn't find them. I hate Facebook pages. Why can't there be a link that says 'menus'?

Miss Linda, the black menus are from a post on the 978 Beach Lounge Facebook page from just last week. I do think you are right, that there is probably quite a bit of similarity between what they do at 978 Beach Lounge and 978 Sanctorum.

We were on the island January 25th - February 8th. At the very top RH corner of Sir Richards 1st photo, you can see our villa.
Both the wind and sargassum were awful on Orient, so we spent the days at either our pool or Friars Bay Beach.
Kali's has more comfortable lounge chairs, Friars has better rhum punch. We enjoyed both places. Great alternative to Orient when you need one!

The beach chairs that they rent out at the far end of the beach are $20 for 2 with an umbrella but if you eat at Friars Bay Beach Bar its $10 for 2 chairs and an umbrella

I believe that Kali's also offers 2 chairs, 1 umbrella and 2 drinks for $30.

Actually, there is. It's under "featured", and it's right there.
