We left BSV yesterday and are now spending a few nights at Flamingo. So no more jetway updates. Our first stay at BSV was wonderful. Almost every day our routine would be to get up have breakfast and shower put the bathing suit on and walk Simpson Bay Beach from one end to the other. This would take 2 to 3 hours collecting sea glass and small colourful shells along the way and eventually ending up at Karakters for three cocktails. We got to know the staff and owners of Karakters and were welcomed every day, all great people, and had a few lunches and dinners there. It got to the point that if we were late starting our walk and got to Karacters a little later than usual the owner would say you're late, we were wondering where you were. lol. Then there would be a little pool time and then go out to dinner or stay home and cook on the grill. My wife has already got one of those Kona cooking mats in her Amazon shopping cart and will place the order when we get home. This daily routine was very relaxing and peaceful and because of that we travelled the island less than other previous trips and we are good with that.
A special shout out to the staff at BSV they are wonderful people. Vickey, Emmanual, and all the housekeeping staff Thank you for making our stay special. We have already contacted Tracey and given her the dates for a month's stay next year. As soon as we hear back from her we will book our flights, which has gone up by $300 compared to this year. My only issue with our stay this year was that the mattress and my bad back didn't get along. Maybe I should have asked Vickey to switch mattresses from the second bedroom.
The view from BSV can't be beat. Our villa at Flamingo for the three nights we are here is on the ground floor on the "A" side which means we are facing a wall and can't even see the sky. I'm going through BSV withdrawal. grin

Didn’t we all tell you so? Glad you enjoyed your stay, as BSV is heads and shoulders over so many island venues. After a day or too it’s almost like vacationing with family or best friends. Only better, if you can believe it.
Until next year…. 😊😊

pat

You must be in Building 3 or 4. the A side of Building 6 has a great view of the new garden area.

Thanks for taking us along and so glad that you enjoyed your stay. We probably don't leave the complex for maybe half of our days there, and we are definitely good with that! BSV isn't perfect for everyone, but it sure is perfect for us!

WhaleTail--Since tomorrow is the weekend, I wonder if you could get them to switch your room tomorrow? Such a big downer, to go from the view at BSV to a view of a wall. Tell them you know Scubaman! (sort of!! grin)

Carol - We love your plan, but it's only 3 nights here and staring out at the concrete wall will not change the memories we created during this vacation. We renewed our vows on a Caribbean Beach and have a picture of us with Caribbean blue water in the background. Now it's a short walk to Juliettes for their Friday Special of a bottle of wine and a fondue for two.

Whale Tale !! One look on "Bernie's" face and I knew you two would be hooked on BSV!!!! Over the years, Louise and I have stayed at 11 different places on the island for one reason or another, all were good! But our go to place of 14 years is and will always be Beachside Villas! It's got something very magical about with all it's quarks and charm!! We love the bed in the master bedroom, Vicky would have been more than helpful to switch it out! You should have said something! We had a problem once with the TV. With no questions asked, he bought a new one for us!! I know that Tracey is really busy these days with many projects going on, you might want to call her to confirm your dates for next year! I'm glad you guys were very happy at BSV!!

Great story, thanks! We want to try BSV on our next trip. We've been using Airbnb's for years. They can be a great value but are definitely hit and miss as far as comfort and amenities go. The idea of not driving around the island everyday is appealing as well.

If anyone has any guidance on what to expect WRT pricing or booking BSV please let us know, messages are fine as well.

Thanks

WRT to your question, my best suggestion is to go to their website as ALL the BSV info is there from room layouts to costs and all other specifics. The staff is wonderful and the units are the whole package.

And let me add, we had a wonderful timeshare which we used for 25 years plus and really believed nothing could top our time and our specific unit there.

One trip we decided to try BSV for a few extra days at the end of our timeshare time and find out what all the noise was about. We liked it so much we started booking there along with our Towers timeshare weeks and when the Towers went away we were sad at the loss but had already become firm BSV fans.

It just doesn’t get any better.!! 😊😊

You are very welcome and I hope you received.the PM I sent you. I think if you’re able to make it work for you and book BSV you will love it as much as so many others among us do.

Greetings,

We are reserved for two weeks at BSV in late September. We've been SXM people since 1988 but this will be the first time for us at BSV.

The folks at BSV said that they would be as flexible as possible on changes if a storm pops up.

Thanks for the reviews here on TTOL and addtional info from Pat.

Looking forward to doing a little more chill'n and less driving around the island.

Cheers,
Jim & Laraine
