Wow, nice vacation! Nude beach during the day, castle at night! Quite a place! We're looking forward to our annual month there in November (beach condo not castle). Did you find a favorite restaurant around there?

Gee, thanks Joe. Glad to be helpful. Well, Joni's lovely anyway. We might be back in the Spring since we are at Cypress all winter thru mid-April and BCB is close. Plus we have friends in Fr. Pierce to stay with. Message us your dates when u know them.

Update on Blind Creek beach from a friend on the board of TCN as to when the bathhouse will be put in:
"No definite date yet, but they did say they were shooting for December. I guess they're waiting for election. Plans still intact for paving, bathroom with showers, and another shower as you come off the beach where you will be able to shower nude. We have also met with commissioners about opening parking north of entrance (not Mudd Creek) for overflow during construction. There is a gate there now that is closed. They are working at Frederick Douglas now so maybe we're next!"
Hope so.
Thank you to Treasure Coast Naturists for all your good work!

For what it's worth a group of us spent all day yesterday (11/5) at the north/Little Mud end and loved it, except for the skeeters on the path. Nice and quiet and same beautiful beach.

Yes, Florida doesn't need another big hit this year, for sure. Our office will be closed tomorrow, hopefully not a big deal here, although the wind field from this thing is tremendous! Stay safe!

Well, thankfullly our balcony's beach view is unchanged from Hurricane Nicole. She turned a bit north just before landfall and that helped, am sure. But I heard that the parking lot at BCB is partially flooded, as least as of yesterday. Looks like the notch in the dunes for the access path became a river feeding water into the lot at high tide. Should be subsiding gradually I hope! Quite a bit of beach erosion happened too, supposedly. Will be checking it out today,

Posted by another beach lover on Blind Creek MeWe page: "We were there about 2 hours ago. Nicole, like every other storm before it, took some beach. That said, at low tide, IMHO, it's usable. Parking lot drive has water over the road and large areas of water in spots. A1A, southbound from Ft. Pierce, has spots where the St. Lucie River seemed more of a road threat had the storm surge been worse. Upside, last 2 pics, Piehole will be open for dinner after 3:30 today "

Previous post is accurate. We went at high tide, (I know.. gluttons for punishment.) There were quite a few dry parking spots and 30-40 cars there; turns out many were surfers who couldn't get into the next park south which was closed. Very little unwashed beach, many folks basically sitting in the dunes. We plopped down next to the entrance on a iittle piece of dry sand and I built a small dike that did keep the lapping waves away. But all our stuff except for chairs and cooler was up 2 ft on the edge of the dune anyway. At least there was no cliff in the beach, thankfully, so it was easy walking on water's edge. Beautiful day that got even better as the tide went out giving lots more room. We even played horseshoes! Sadly a train of showers started in around mid-afternoon so we bugged out (no-see-ums were bad anyway), But hey, who's complaining getting almost 6 hours of nekkid fun the day after a hurricane hit!! Pretty darn lucky, I'd say. I should add that our local friend warned us against going to the north beach (Mudd Creek) as a big pond usually forms across the path in the lee of the dunes. Someone said they tried it and had to wade through the pond, but the beach was beautiful. We may head there tomorrow as the south, regular Blind Creek parking lot and beach could be sardine-city given the high tide at late morning.

Thanks so much for your reports on Blind Creek Beach and the condo. Once again we’re looking forward to spending the month of March in the same complex and visiting BCB as much as we can. Hopefully the improvements at the beach will be complete by then.
Enjoy the rest of your time there!

Thanks, we plan to! We got there early today (8:30) and nailed the closest parking space, Puddles in the lot continue to dissipate, but leaving nasty potholes! Had great day on the beach! Lots of surfers again, even a nekkid one!

The north beach was just fine yesterday. Uncrowded, light breeze and sunny. The pathway in was mostly dry and the erosion going up the dune was fixed by a pal with a little rake. Nice day with friends from the Treasure Coast Naturists.

Just to put a wrap on the visit (have the Christmas spirit I guess), we had an outstanding 5 weeks of weather with only a few non-beach days caused by Nicole and a couple with clouds and nasty winds. Usually nice breezes kept the bugs away. (Spray needed if no wind). The beach is in fine condition considering the damage farther north (last I heard Playalinda is still closed). No sign of the promised improvements at Blind Creek (paving, bathrooms) but that was ok, we always went early so parking was easy and the porta potties were there for (aromatic) servicing if needed. The beach was cleaner than ever, thanks in part to the Treasure Coast Naturists who now provide blue shopping baskets at the entrance for picking up trash. What a good idea! There was quite a lot of junk washed up after Nicole but it was pretty well gone in a few days. I should have taken a photo of one friend carrying out an old tire around his neck! (thanks Mike!). The shells were outstanding, we even found a beautiful conch but it's occupant was still alive so we threw him back in.
There really was only one downer for our month, I caught Covid! I think it was at an optician's where I forgot my mask. Very mild symptoms for only 2-3 days, thanks to boosters and Paxlovid (prescribed via an urgent care in Jensen Beach). Anyway, it's hard to think of a better place to "weather" Covid, it never got in the way other than sitting downwind from friends and missing some dinners out. And keeping the windows open and fans on at the condo. Wifey had had it in the summer and never caught this round.
As a result, we only have a few dining recommendations. From north to south, The Square Grouper was ok, decent variety of sandwiches and nice (mostly outdoors) location right on the Ft. Pierce Inlet; Piehole Pizza was excellent for pizza and the garlic knot tower (!) although a bit pricey and noseeums were bad, even in the breezy screened patio; Shucker's outdoor deck overlooking the beach was great, we went for a mid-afternoon birthday lunch to avoid crowds and all 6 of us had very good meals and service; The Magic Oyster was excellent as always, especially for our seafood lovers. We ate in their outside open-air area (before I tested positive).
That's about it, we're looking forward to another nice long visit to beautiful Blind Creek beach next year.

Was a beautiful sunny and warm day on New Year's for the "Polar Plunge"- should be renamed Solar Plunge IMHO! Wave action was moderate, still plenty of chances to get dunked though. Nice turnout, thanks to Treasure Coasts Naturists for hosting it.

We arrived for our March visit to Hutchinson Island and spent Thursday & Saturday (3/2 & 3/4) at Blind Creek Beach. Both days were sunny & HOT! (although lots of noseeums). Nonetheless, we very much enjoyed our time and look forward to many more days there. There was no evidence of improvements (ie parking, bathrooms, etc) although there were a number of trees marked with pink ribbon possibly as either “save” or “remove” trees as clearing for parking.

Closed for 3 days, sorry for the folks there on vacation, but maybe progress for the new restrooms!: SOUTH HUTCHINSON ISLAND – St. Lucie County’s Parks & Recreation Department will close Blind Creek Beach Monday, April 10 through Wednesday, April 12 as crews remove non-native vegetation along the northwest side of the parking lot. D&R Landscaping & Lawn Services will be removing exotic vegetation to make way for new restrooms that are planned for installation at the beach park later this year. Located at 5460 South Ocean Drive, Blind Creek Beach is the only clothing-optional beach on the Treasure Coast. The site is more than 108 acres of coastal uplands and wetlands and features an observation tower that overlooks the dunes.

Update/corrected notice that the beach will remain open! Partial Closure of Blind Creek Beach Parking Lot April 10, 11, and 12
Please be advised that County officials will be working in the parking area on April 10, 11, and 12. Parking may be somewhat limited on those days, but the beach will remain open. We are happy to see first steps being taken toward the installation of restrooms and the renovation of the parking area.
Here is the press release from the County:
Blind Creek Beach to Remain Open During Clearing Work April 10-12
SOUTH HUTCHINSON ISLAND – Blind Creek Beach will remain open Monday, April 10 through Wednesday, April 12 while St. Lucie County’s Parks & Recreation Department removes non-native vegetation along the northwest side of the parking lot.
D&R Landscaping & Lawn Services will be removing exotic vegetation to make way for new restrooms that are planned for installation at the beach park later this year. The work being done will impact some of the parking area, but access to the beach will remain open.

Here's the latest on the upgrades. Blind Breek upgrade? Not sure why they think there is a dangerous situation with parking, seems like they are just trying to rationalize the reduced number of parking spaces! Get there early is the bottom line! Hope it's ok in November when we'll b there. Also, it's interesting that they say Little Mud Creek parking is an overflow since they discourage nudity down there!

Latest blurb from TCN: Members of the TCN Board had a positive meeting earlier this week with several County officials. The project has cleared the state approval process and is on track to begin at the end of the year. TCN emphasized the need for our beachgoers to have adequate parking both during the project and into the future. The County acknowledges this need, and we are working together for a solution. We will keep you informed as things develop!
