Tom--I almost feel like I need to book a trip to Provo, to check you out!

BTW, Eric's brother is moving to St. Croix soon. Have you been there recently??

We stayed at Hotel La Vista Azul in a VERY large studio.
The resort has hotel rooms, VRBO/Airbnb Rooms, Private, and maybe a few timeshare. Not sure on time share.

It was in an excellent location for us because it was out of the way... but not really.
The marina is a short walk away as well as a couple nice beaches.
No it is not Grace Bay, but pricing goes WAY UP to be where everyone wants to go.

The resort was not new and shiny, but extremely clean and the service (we went as a hotel customer) was outstanding.
We would open our sliding door of our room and there was a lovely heated pool with a great view.
The resort has two identical sides (mirror image) One side has a heated pool and the other side not heated.
Nice hot tub cabana in the middle. smile

You definitely need a car, and there are lots of place to explore... or not. Pretty tempting to sit in the white sand and stare at the water (Sand Gravity).
I will say you need to bring $$$ - Cacios is not a cheap place to visit.

I should have done a blog... but I was truly chililn'

Hope this helps

We had read the same nightmare stories about the airport and I was not looking forward to our arrival in this blue-water paradise.

The trip was planned for Thursday to Thursday. That was based on our retirement schedule, flight cost, and the hope to avoid the arrival nightmare.
Our flight left from DCA (Washington, DC) via Charlotte (CLT) to Providenciales (PLS) with an arrival time 4:10 PM.

I did some serious meditation on the flight down to lower my blood pressure. My sweetie would say I slept like log... think she was right smile

Providenciales is a small airport and like most island airports they roll the steps up to the plane and you walk into the arrival hall. As we broke the door to arrival hall I was pleasantly surpised that we were about number 20 in line. We do not have a global pass or any other fast pass that would help us. Just us in the regular line, and we were done and outside in 10 minutes! wave Note there are services that provide an escort who will expedite your arrival. Needless to say, those folks who procured the service were upset that the line was sooooooooooo short.

We did use Hertz and were very happy with their service. On one of exploration days, I hit a pot hole that was the size of New Hampshire. The front tire was ripped off the wheel. Within an hour the Hertz repair truck arrived, and the repairman hammered the wheel back in shape and fixed the tire. I tipped the guy and never heard anymore from Hertz. Remember it is a British Island and driving is different than your hometown.

Our departure was early afternoon and me being me we arrived almost 3 hours early. The airport was empty, and check-in was a breeze. We headed upstairs to a waiting room which had a bar/restaurant. The picture attached shows what it looked like when we arrived. 90 minutes later, one could not even stand up, it was so crowded both upstairs and downstairs. About 30 minutes before our departure, we headed back downstairs and queued up for our flight. I was glad to get on the plane and start my meditation routine again.

Thanks Tom. I’m a get to airport early kind of guy but the Mrs. thinks I’m crazy until we are running to the gate. If we get closer to pulling the trigger I will reach out.
